BRIDGET'S POV

Lethabo has been keeping Lisa's kidnapper hostage till this very day. Inflicted all types of torture to get him to talk. Bashed and thrashed him but we are at wits end. So today I'm finally going to meet him and give him my piece of mind. He has changed my daughter for the worst. She has this disgruntled attitude that I cannot put into words. It's heartbreaking. These past three months I noticed an enormous change in Lisa. The week she experienced the unthinkable, she was so closed off, you'd swear she was not mentally present. She had nightmares that she never wanted to disclose with any of us. At times I would cry on her behalf because that's something she refuses to do.  That's why I suggested she sees a psychologist.

Going to Res was not an option, not in her condition at least. At times she'd refuse to eat, she stopped exercising, we even allowed Kholwani to come over. Our one way ticket to reach out to her. Subconsciously I don't think she was aware that she was only responsive to him and no one else. They would laugh and talk and go out together. Basically I was forced to trust him even though he was the reason we are at the situation at present. The scary aspect of it all is that when they broke up and he moved out of the estate she didn't even cry. Showed no emotion whatsoever.

One day I caught her staring at the mirror, basically staring into space. When I got a closer look she was actually staring at the scar on her neck. A reminder of the trauma she went through. At this point I am caught between a rock and a hard place. The guy that brought the flowers used to be her jogging buddy Paul. I'm pretty sure it was an innocent gesture. Flowers brightens up a lady's mood right? That could be the only reason he sent them because in my knowledge, he has a girlfriend. I honestly don't like this new, dismissive, unresponsive Lisa. I want my baby back.

Yes, I know Lethabo has been into illegal stuff. I don't encourage it but I can't change him either. He managed to steal Lisa's pandant because sadly she lost his trust. He even asked me for permission to keep tabs on her. Being the concerned mother that I am, I gladly gave him permission. So we can trace her every move because she is unpredictable. We are currently  in the car, on our way to the butcher house. I need to vent and get answers to my questions. Lethabo kisses the back of my hand cutting my thoughts short, bringing me back to planet earth. "Are you sure you wanna do this? We can turn around it's not too late." He says simultaneously  shifting his focus on me and the road. " I'm positive babe." I respond. He gives me a slow nod and he shifts his focus back on the road.

We finally reach the penthouse and make our way inside. This place sure looks abandoned. To find the next house you have to drive approximately 20 km. The tiles are worn out, grimy windows and oof..is that a spider I'm seeing. Creepy. I follow Lethabo to the basement with great difficulty but I get a hang of it with Lethabo' s help. The spider webs make my skin crawl and I rub my tummy repeatedly as if my child is sensing this spooky aura.

We get to the steel door and he inserts a pin and it automatically opens. "Don bring him in." Lethabo orders. Don goes into a window scarf looking curtain and drags him in. I shift my attention to the bruised man, limping his way towards the chair and my jaws drop. "This can't be." I involuntarily whisper. Tears well up in my eyes as he looks at me in shock. Even though the bashing gave him a blue eye, you can't miss the confusion in his eyes. I shake my head vigorously at Lethabo with the tears gushing down my face. "It can't be.." I recite.

"What's wrong babe?" He asks worryingly. "Bridget." The man voices out. I continually shake my head in disbelief. I throw my head on Lethabo's chest and he pulls my chin to look at him, trying to read my mind. "How the fuck do you know her?" Don asks. Even Lethabo looks eager to know. The man remains silent, with his eyes still piercing through my skin. "Speak up!" Lethabo exclaims. He chuckles bitterly and leans forward.

"So you left umfowethu omdala for this sotho boy?" He asks fueling my fiance' s anger. Lethabo shoots daggers at him and Mandla feeds on his anger. "Mandla, Mandla , Mandla." I say wiping my tears with my backhand. I shake my head in disbelief. "So you sexually assaulted your very own niece Mandla." Don and Lethabo look at him in amusement and Mandla looks at me questionably. "Yeah, the girl you almost took advantage of is my daughter...your brother's daughter." I say stabbing his heart with a thousand knives.

He gives me a wide-eyed stare and unwavering eye contact. Clenching his jaws regrettably. He rubs his head in frustration. "So how long are you going to keep her away from her roots?" He says catching me by surprise. I raise my eyebrows at him astonished. The level of disrespect, the audacity! "You see that's where you are mistaken. I am not keeping her away from anyone, she was kicked out of her own father's house. So don't you dare ask me that stupid question." I warn. "Why are we even talking about Chris? You know what? I hope you burn in hell for what you did. I thought I could give her kidnapper a piece of my mind but knowing it's you, I've lost all strength. Baby let's go." I say rising to my feet. "I hope the next person you rape is not your daughter. I don't even wish it upon anyone. Don dedela lenja." I order and we make our way out.

Lethabo keeps glancing at me worryingly throughout the whole drive and he too is beginning to get on my nerves. This is honestly beyond me.
