"I'm looking for JJ..?"

"Ok, so why didn't you call her phone?"

"I did Emily" my eyes widen as I pull the phone away, looking at it.

"Ha, I suppose you did. Hold on" I mute the phone then turn towards Jennifer. I lean down beside her ear.

"Baby, wake up. Garcia is on the phone" she groans a little then holds her hand out. I smirk, handing it to her. She freezes for a minute then sits up looking at me with wide eyes.

"I'll make the coffee" I get up going into the bathroom so I can start getting ready for the case I know we have.

We arrived at work at 5:30, we had a case in California we were briefing for. I knew Garcia was ready to drill us. Jennifer was so anxious, since the call.

"It's going to be okay Jen.." I whisper into her ear as we make our way to the conference room. I had to pretend like my body wasn't hurting from last night.

"I hope so.." I sigh and make my way to my seat away from her. I can feel Garcia's eyes on me as she walks into the room. I see Jennifer hang her head, pretending to look at her phone.

"Good morning everyone. I'm so sorry for disturbing you but we have a doozy in California we gotta head to. Several women and men.." I can't focus as I stare at Jennifer sitting a few seats away from me. I could tell the case was already getting to her. Seeing the pictures of each victim making her shift her eyes each time.

The UNSUB we had was killing transgender college students with some very colorful choice words written on them. It was always sickening when we had cases like this. It makes you see how fucked up the world really is.

"Alright team, wheels up in 30. JJ, can I see you in my office?" her head snaps up and she looks at him with wide eyes before glancing at me.

"Okay" she whispers out. My eyes follow her as she trails behind Hotch heading to his office.

"Emily, can I see you in my office?" Garcia asks. I roll my eyes and get up, following her.

"What did you want to see me about?" I ask Hotch after I close the door behind us.

"The case.. Do you want to go with us or stay with Garcia?" I chew on my lip as I think about the question. Nobody but Emily and Hotch, of course, know about my condition.

"What will we tell the team?"

"That you have to stay back to handle some matters regarding your job. That the director wants you here personally"

"Can I talk to Emily first..?"

"Of course, we leave in 25 minutes okay? Just let me know. Also, congratulations. Emily told me about y'all's relationship, which you probably already know. I'm 100% behind you ladies. It's good to see my team members find love. Might help us all." I smile at him before getting up, going to find Emily. I searched all over the bullpen before making my way to Garcia's office.

"Hey.. Uh, can I talk to you?" Emily's head snaps over to me quickly.

"Yeah" she gets up and makes her way over to me. We wave bye to Garcia and leave to go to my office.

"What's up?"

"Hotch asked me if I wanted to stay here with Garcia or go with you guys to California.. What should I do?" She lets out a sigh before answering.

"What's going to make you comfortable?"

"Staying here but I don't want to feel weak and I also don't want to deal with Garcia alone."

"I personally think that you should do whatever you're comfortable with, baby. Nobody will think less of you and I'm sure Hotch has a good excuse as to why you would stay behind"

"He does. The directors request" she walks over to me, grabbing my face so I'm looking at her.

"Garcia isn't mad by the way. She was actually waiting for us to get together and no she's not going to tell anybody, not even Derek. You don't have anything to worry about."

"I think I want to go"

"You sure?"

"Yeah, nothing can go wrong"
