Kara Danvers' POV
"ALEX! ALEX! OPEN THE DOOR!" I yelled as I banged on her door as gently as I could. I was still able to knock pretty hard without punching a hole in it like I definitely didn't do last week. Sorry Alex..
"WHAT?!" She said loudly as her door flew open. I nearly toppled into her but maintained my balance.
"I need your help." I gave her cheeky smile. She groaned and rubbed her forehead.
"Its three in the god damn morning, Kara. This better be good." Alex said.
"So I met this girl.." I helped myself inside of Alex's apartment and made my way to her couch. I plopped down and waited for Alex to join me.
"You woke me up at three in the morning because of a girl?!" Alex said. I could tell she was being a bit grumpy, but I don't really care.
"Yes. Problem?" I said.
"Many problems." She eventually sat down next to me and I gave her a smile.
"So.. She gave me her number and I don't know what to text her." I said.
"Didn't you just get out of a year long relationship?" Alex groaned.
"Yes.. But I don't know Alex.. She's really pretty and confident and I think she might be the one." I said.
"The one..? As in the one you're gonna marry?" Alex said.
"Maybe.. I don't know. But there is something about her. Something irresistible." I said. Alex scrunched her face.
"Does she have big boobs or something?" Alex earned herself a slap on the arm.
"Alexxxx! I'm being serious!" I exclaimed.
"Fine.. Fine.. Sorry." Alex sighed. "So how can I help?"
"Well first, I need to text her." I said.
"At three in the morning?" Alex questioned.
"Well she just gave me her number like 20 minutes ago.." I said. Alex's eyes widened.
"So you think 'the one' is someone you met 20 minutes ago?" Alex asked.
"Technically we met on the day me and Lucy broke up.. But kind of, yeah.." I said, looking down.
"Right, I think you maybe need to just get some sleep and text her in the morning. Or maybe by then you'll come to your senses. Rebound relationships almost never work out, Kara." Alex said.
"What do I even say?" I said, ignoring the last part of what she said. I'm not sure why Alex is such a negative nelly sometimes but I've learned to make my way around it.
"Well, start out with a 'Hi, its Kara.' and then just ask when a good time would be to go out." Alex said.
I grabbed my phone and the card that Kieran gave me out of my pocket and typed in her number before starting to type a message.
'Hey Kieran, it's Kara! I was wondering when would be a good time to get drinks somewhere.'
I think that'll be good enough.. Right? I smiled and clicked send. She started typing immediately.
'How about tonight at 7pm? Al's Dive Bar?'
I said that would work fine and turned off my phone. I looked at Alex who was staring at me.
"Tonight at 7. Which means I will need you at my apartment right after work to help me get ready for my date." I said.
"Yes yes. Now go home and get some rest." Alex said.
