11: The Screw Up

Kara's POV

I brought the hat back to the base. I had a plan set in my mind. I would go to give her the hat and then take her down when she least expected it. I landed at the entrance and was allowed access quickly. I walked inside, the hat in my left hand and I made my way towards Lillian. She had a devilish smirk on her face.

  "I have the hat." I mumbled.

  "Fantastic. Bring it over." Lillian grinned. I looked over at Lena who was happy to see me back so quickly. I started to walk towards Lillian and reached my hand out to giver her the hat.

  'This is it. Now or never. I need to end Lillian's reign of terror once and for all'

I jerked my hand back and started to run towards Lillian with the intention of knocking her out. I was suddenly unable to move and looked around in shock.

  "I knew it was only a matter of time before you turned on us, Kryptonian. So I installed a little fail safe in that new suit of yours." She chuckled.

  "Mother! What did you do to her?" Lena yelled and rushed over to me.

   "Don't worry, Lena. She's just under my control now." Lillian pressed a few buttons on the tablet in her hands and my arm moved on its own. It reached out and handed the hat to her. I looked down at my arm in shock and then back at Lillian who gladly took the hat from my hands and walked towards a desk on the other side of the room.

   "Lena.." I whispered.

  "I didn't know she would do something like this! I'm so sorry." She whispered back.

  "I need you to go the the DEO and tell everyone what happened if I do something crazy." I said. She nodded and ran over to Lillian who was calling her name loudly. I would have gone over to see what they were doing, but Lillian left me here unable to move.

  Lena Luthor's POV

   I ran over to Lillian after going over the plan with Kara. I felt awful as I was the one that convinced her to come here in the first place and now she's stuck alone in the corner of the room, unable to move.

  "I'm thinking that we should have Supergirl do our dirty work for us. I'm going to send her out this afternoon and have her hit a few buildings with this magnificent weapon." She said as she pulled a large gun out of the hat.

   "That is a great plan, mother. National City will never see it coming." I faked a smile.

  I watched as Lillian put together her master plan. I also made a small plan of my own. Once she sent Kara out, I will tell her that I'm going to target a specific building on the west side of town and use that time to go the the DEO and warn the others about what had happened.

  The time approached quickly and I could tell that Kara was visibly nervous. Lillian left for a bathroom break so I took this time to tell Kara what her plan was.

  "Kara!" I said quietly as I approached her. She turned her head towards me and I saw the tears in her eyes.

  "Listen, I know Lillian's plan. She's sending you out onto National City with a weapon that is capable of mass destruction. She wants you to do all of her dirty work for her." I whispered.

    "I don't want to hurt National City, Lena! I've failed everyone." She whispered.

  "Hey.. Don't think like that. We're going to get out of this mess. I have a plan but there isn't enough time to tell you everything. I'm so sorry, love." I planted a kiss on her forehead and ran back to the other side of the room. Lillian returned shortly after.
