A smile so wide,
Slowly transforming with time,
The brightest heart,
Shattering and falling apart,
Broken and bruised;
yet we're standing here once more,
Hand in hand as we're waiting in line,
A line of hope and progress,
Our worst nightmares ahead of us,
A world so deep and dark;
Created our souls and now;
It's tearing us down
A cluttered mess,
Blood clots and unsupervised rules,
My nanny said that it'd be okay,
I got ice cream for a late night snack,
Tomorrow I'll get a kiss on the cheek,
Our parents came home,
Kisses turned into bruises,
Bruises turned into cuts,
Mother, please stop;
For I have given you all that I've got..
A heart so full of love,
You went all numb and cold,
I get that your past hurt you,
Slaps were rewards,
Spanks were late night snacks;
and cuts were punishments,
You proved them wrong,
And now everyone hates you
I hate your punishments,
your late night snacks and stupid rewards,
My teacher gave me gold stars,
You gave me cold love and bug bites,
Thank you for draining me,
Turning and twisting something so sincere,
My heart,
It will forever be broken,
All because of you..
