Reckless energetic bursts,
Bubble wrap and protective skin,
Pillows in between my legs,
Iron armer and stitches to my face,
A new scar placed its fate on my chest,
Needles and pins; bring me back to life,
All to feel a little aliveDarling,
You're what keeps me moving,
The constant reassurance,
Love rushing through your veins,
Emotional support,
A place to rest;
my personal safety vest,
You're what reminds me that I'm humanClose to the edge,
Reeling me back in,
Regardless of how far I fall;
I always end up back in your arms,
You're the calm to my storm,
A weather beyond compare;
You're what keeps me here.
