Reggie POV

While Julie was downstairs I decided to explore my room a little bit, I found some clothes that I can sleep in. I start to look in the drawers and closet, they look full so I must stay here often. I walk back into the hallway and meet her out there. I cautiously walk downstairs still very confused about what's going on. I get to the bottom of the stairs and see Ray sitting in the living room. I walk over to him unsure how to start this conversation. "Hey Reggie, have a seat." He says pointing to the couch. I nod my head and sit down. "Reggie, what's been going on with you lately?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean You haven't called me Ray since you were fifteen? Are you upset about the conversation we had a few weeks ago? Because if you are I can call and cancel the paperwork, I don't want to put you in a situation your not comfortable with."
"What situation?"
"Reggie, If you don't want me to Adopt you I don't have to. You've been living here on and off since you were seven and I thought why not make it official. If you want me to stay your guardian though, that's fine too. I'm not going to force you to become my son."
"No, no, that's not it at all. I guess that conversation reminded me that you're not actually my dad."
"Reggie, you have lived with us off and on for over ten years now. You have been spending some nights and weekends here since you were five, as far as I'm concerned you are my son. I just want paperwork to make that official." I nod my head. "Okay, thanks, Dad." I walk over to him as he stands up and gives me a hug. I get the same feeling that I got around him when I was a ghost. A feeling telling me that everything was going to be okay. "Alright, head to bed, Love you, Reggie."
"Love you too Dad," I say as I run upstairs to my room. I see Julie sitting on a mattress on my floor next to my bed. Her hair is wet so she must have taken a short shower while Dad and I were downstairs talking. She is brushing out her hair. "So, what did you find out?" She asks eagerly as she sets the brush down on a table close by. I go grab the brush and sit behind her. She turns around to face me. "Turn around, you missed the back." She scoffs and turns around. "So... What did my Dad want to talk to you about?"
"Well, I found out it's not your Dad, it's Our Dad."
"Our Dad?"
"Yeah, apparently I've been spending the night here every once in a while since I was five, and moved in when I was around fifteen." I set the brush down on the nightstand and notice a wallet and phone. "Well, the mystery of my missing wallet is solved." I open it up and look at my license. "Well, I'm gonna need a new one of those soon," I say sliding my license back into my wallet and setting it back on my nightstand. "Why?"
"Well, Dad wanted to talk to me because I was calling him Ray, not Dad and he was worried that I was upset about him wanting to adopt me."
"My Dad's adopting you."
"Yeah, It's exciting. I don't know why, but I feel like this is my family."
"I guess that's why you have your own room here if you've been living here for over two years."
"Yeah, and it would explain your nickname for me Jellybean." I quickly put my hands over my mouth. "Jellybean, so I guess this nickname thing is a two-way street."
"I guess so."
"We need to text Luke and let him know what's going on."
"We can tell him tomorrow, we need to sleep tonight. It's been a big night for both of us."
"Okay." She reluctantly says laying down on her mattress. I close my door and shut off my light. I climb into bed. "Goodnight Bubba." She says as she starts to fall asleep. "Goodnight Jellybean."
