Luke POV
I pull out of Alex's driveway and start heading home, my house isn't super far so I decide to jam out to some music on the way home. I start to get memories that I know aren't mine or are they? I finally pull into my driveway and get out of the car. I see my Dad standing at the door waiting for me. "Luke, Curfew was ten minutes ago." He says with a look. I look down at the clock on my phone 9:40. "Sorry Dad, I was at Julie's then gave Alex a ride home, I must have lost track of time."
"That's okay, I'm just glad you're safe." He says motioning for me to come inside. I walk inside hanging my head. "Luke Keys." My Dad says so I drop the keys into his hands. "No car this weekend."
"Yes sir," I say with a sigh. I walk into the living room and am immediately given a hug by my Mom. "Luke, we thought something bad happened. We were so worried about you." I hug my mom back for the first time in over twenty-five years. I bury my head into her neck and start to cry. "I love you, Mom."
"I love you too Luke." She says as she rubs my back. I pull my head back up and try to calm myself down. Mom walks over to the couch and I sit down next to her. She wraps her arm around me and holds me for a little bit. I lay my head on her shoulder and listen to her breathing. "Are you okay?" My mom asks slowly rubbing my back. I nod my head, "yeah, I'm fine, I just missed you."
"Okay, I'm not going to complain. I've missed my cuddly baby boy." I smile a little bit as a relax more. "We saw the videos of you playing the Orpheum tonight."
"You did?"
"Yeah, we are so proud of you."
"You are?"
"Of course we are. You're pursuing your dream. We will always be proud of you." I nod my head never wanting to leave my Mothers arms again. I lay there for a long time feeling my mom rub my back and play with my hair just like she did when I was a child. "Okay Luke, you've had a big night. It's time for bed."
"Okay. Am I grounded for breaking curfew?"
"No, not this time, no car this weekend though. We can give you a ride if you want to go somewhere."
"Okay, can I go hang out with Reggie, Alex, and Julie tomorrow?"
"Maybe, I thought that the Molinas had their court appointment tomorrow morning?"
"Court appointment?"
"Yeah, I thought tomorrow was the appointment to sever all parental rights?"
"Wait, what's happening?"
"If they haven't told you they might not want you to know yet. Carlos is going to be at the house tomorrow morning, Ray didn't know how long the appointment was going to take so we're going to watch him."
"Okay?" I say very confused. "Afterwards though, you can go hang out if they have time."
"Okay, thanks, mom!" I start heading to my room. "Goodnight Mom, Goodnight Dad. I love you."
"I love you too Luke." My mom says "Goodnight Luke," My Dad echos shortly after. I walk down the hallway to my room, I open the door and it is decorated just like I remember it with the small exception of a few new pictures and a lot more song lyrics scattered around the room. I grab my phone to text Julie. 'My mom just mentioned a court appointment for you? Something about parental rights being severed?' I hit send and get ready for bed as I wait for a response. I check about twenty minutes later, still no response. I plug in my phone and go to bed hoping that there will be a response when I wake up tomorrow morning.
