Alex POV
I motion for Luke to come back outside with me. "They're gonna need a few minutes."
"Yeah." Luke agrees with a sigh. He goes and sits on the small wall facing the garage. I sit down next to him. "Okay Lukie, what's wrong," I say trying to pester him a little bit. "Not in the mood Alex."
"Luke, talk to me."
"No, I'm good."
"Luke."
"Alex, you don't have to pretend to care."
"Pretend to care? When did I ever pretend to care? If I remember correctly you were the one that said, friends." He glares at me. "Did you really have to bring that up right now? I told you I was sorry."
"Luke you don't have to apologize for trying to figure out feelings." He nods his head. "What's wrong?"
"It's just. I missed them so much."
"Who's them? Your parents."
"Yeah, and now that I have them back, it's just different."
"How?"
"well.. never mind it's not important."
"Luke, please talk to me." He takes a deep breath. "Do you remember Kiah?"
"Yeah, of course?"
"Kiah's my mom."
"Just like Isaac is my Dad." He nods his head. "I was the one that was miscarried, well my uncle Luke was."
"But you're still living with Emily and Mitch right?"
"Yeah... I had a memory come back earlier today... I saw Kiah, she was all grown up. There are pictures of her all around the house and videos of things like her Prom." He starts to smile a little bit. "I realized everything that I missed, and now when I see Reggie and Julie it makes me think of what would have been different."
"What do you mean?"
"I always missed Kiah, you know that. I now get to see Reggie be a big brother, and that's all I ever wanted to be."
"Your still confused aren't you." He nods his head. "Have you told Reggie yet?"
"No... I can't see that conversation ending well though." I give him a confused look. "Hey Reg, what's up, yeah I know our lives have been turned upside down, but you know how I thought I liked Julie, yeah about that I might not now! So can I go spend alone time with your little sister to see if I have feelings for her?"
"Luke You can't blame yourself for not understanding your emotions."
"Yeah, but I will blame myself for hurting her. And so will Reggie." We both pause for a minute. "Oh, and Alex...I think my exact phrase was brothers, not friends." He pats my back and jumps off the small wall we were sitting on. I roll my eyes at him. I look up and see Reggie walk out of the garage Julie still attached to his side. I see Luke uncomfortably shift back to the wall when they walk out. "Hey, do you guys just want to order a pizza and watch a movie?" He asks still rubbing Julies back. "I don't know if we can handle much more emotion today." He says looking down at Julie. We all nod in agreement. "We can either do Pizza and a Movie or I can drive you both home. It's up to you guys."
"I'm gonna head home." I say "Addi said she wanted to spend time with me tonight before I leave town tomorrow."
"Leave town?" Luke asks. "Yeah, apparently I'm going to see my mom this weekend."
"Well, have fun. Do you want a ride?" Reggie asks. "Na, I'll walk you look a little bit busy right now," I say with a smile and a wink. He smiles back at me then looks down at Julie again. He starts to play with her hair. "Luke? What about you? Do you want to stay or go home?"
"I'll stay here and chill with your little brother for a bit. My Mom said she was coming soon anyway. She texted me about needing to drop something off to your Dad?"
"Okay," Reggie says as He shrugs off the conversation.
