Julie Pov
It's been three weeks. Three weeks of the boys being well human again, three weeks of Luke living with us, three weeks of big brother Reggie, and three weeks of Alex and Nick. The five of us have been getting along really well, it's kinda nice. Flynn of course has been there to help keep me sane through the whole thing. Tomorrow is Lukes birthday, Tomorrow is also the day we find out what's in the yellow envelope. Luke gave it to my dad so no one would open it before it was time. We've all resorted to taking bets as to what is in the Envelope. Reggie thinks it's money, Carlos thinks it's a treasure map, Dad refused to play in our little game, Luke thinks it's a letter from his Mom (Kiah, not Emily), and I think it's song lyrics. We've started to get everything ready for Luke's birthday. He said he doesn't want a party, but Alex is gonna come spend the weekend. So not much is gonna change except having another boy at the house this weekend. I'm going to Flynn's house on Saturday to spend the night so I only have to survive one night in a house with five boys, I think I'm gonna die. It's Thursday night and Luke's birthday is on Friday.
We finish practicing for the night. I hear the last chord and relax. "Guys we are killing it! We can only go up from here!" Luke says with a smile plastered across his face. A smile that has been noticeably scarce for the past few weeks. Alex checks the time and bolts out the door. "See you guys tomorrow!" We all wave and hear his car start in the driveway. We pack everything up and head into the house. My Dad is waiting inside at the counter. "Goodnight Dad." All three of us say walking into the house. "I am so sorry Ray. It slipped, I didn't mean it, I mean I did, but I didn't, it just slipped, I'm so sorry."
"Luke, you're fine. You don't need to apologize." We all paused for a minute. "Hey guys, since tomorrow is such a big day for someone, how about we stay up till midnight and then we open the letter." Reggie and I look at each other excitedly then we see the look of terror on Luke's face. "Luke, it's your decision, we can also just eat bowls of ice cream and forget the letter exists for right now. "Let's just start with ice cream. " Dad opens the freezer and pulls out a big tub of ice cream. He dishes out four bowls and slides one to each of us, keeping the fourth bowl for himself. We sit down to watch a TV show. Once we finish we all look at the clock. "Well, Luke it's 11:55, do you want to stay up and open it or wait till morning?"
"I'll open it tonight. If that's okay with you."
"of course, I'll go grab it, by the time I get back It will be midnight." My Dad walks out of the room and Luke looks more nervous than ever. "Dude are you okay? I haven't seen you this service since we played that one club and we all thought we were gonna get murdered."
"Ironically I think that's when we learned about the street dog place," Luke says with a laugh. "Yeah, don't worry I'll be fine. I'm just nervous about what's in the envelope." Dad walks out with the Envelope in Hand. "Are you ready Luke?"
