Alex POV

I'm laying on my couch with Addi laying in front of me. "Alex did you see that!" She says in amazement watching whatever movie is on, I haven't been paying much attention to the movie, I've been paying more attention to Addison and her laughter than the actual plot of the movie. "Alex, Alex did you see that!"
"Yeah," I say pulling her a little bit closer to my chest. I've never had a younger sister before, and now for some reason, all I want to do is to watch her grow up. To me, she is the most important thing, the gleam of sunlight in my otherwise dark and confusing world. I feel the phone start to buzz next to me. I look at the ID, It's Reggie. I look at the text it says, "Headed to pick you up at your house, be there in fifteen." I lay my phone back down and stand up off the ground. "I need to go, Addi, you're gonna have to tell me how the movie ends Okay?"
"Okay, Alex. When are you coming home?"
"I don't know yet. Why do you want to know?"
"Because you were gone all day yesterday and I missed you."
"I missed you too. Don't worry I'll be home later okay." Addi gets up and runs over to where I am standing. "I'm gonna miss you." I pick her up and hug her. "Little one I'm only gonna be gone for a few hours." She nods her head into my neck. "What's really bothering you little one?"
"I'm not gonna see you all weekend."
"Why?"
"Because Daddy said You and Arianna were going to see your mommy this weekend."
"Oh, and you're gonna miss me when I'm gone." She nods her head into my neck again. "How about this, when I get home tonight if it's not too late, we will walk and get ice cream. If I come home late though, We can have a sleepover in my room." Her eyes light up. She nods her head. "Okay, I have to go, but I'll see you tonight ."
"Okay, I love you."
"Love you too." I run upstairs and see my Mom sitting at the counter. "Hey, Mom got to run Reggie is coming to pick me up."
"Okay, Don't stay out too late, and make sure you text me and let me know where you are."
"Okay Mom, will do! Love you!"
"Love you to Alex." I round the corner and see a man walk out of the back hallway. "Bye Dad," I say out of instinct not paying attention to who it was. "Alex slow down."
"Sorry Dad", I say looking up at him 'Issac?' I mumble under my breath. "Go have fun Alex, don't stay out too late."
"Okay, Thanks Dad, Love you guys! I'll see you later tonight!" I say running out the door. I see a car pull up and assume that it's Reggies. I walk up to the car and get in when I can make out that it is actually Reggie driving. I open the back door and see Julie in the backseat. Luke looks at me in the rearview mirror. "Alex, you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Oh! Did you see Willie?" Reggie asks excitedly. "No, but do you guys remember my little brother?"
"Which one." Luke asks with a laugh "Your family was huge."
"The littlest Issac."
"Awww, yeah I miss the little man. He was only like three when we died right?"
"He was ten, but Yeah, well He's now my Dad."
"Your Dad?" Luke asks confused. "Yeah," I say still kinda stunned. "Okay, so there were obviously some changes from the 2020 that we were ghosts in and the 2020 we are in now."
"Yeah, like the fact we're no longer ghosts."
"Okay Captain obvious, what other changes do we know?" Luke says. "Well, Julie's life didn't change much so we can skip her."
"Wow, thanks, Luke." She sasses back at him. "Would you like to cover the one singular change to your life?"
"Um... I have an older brother now, I think that constitutes a big change."
"An older brother? Like you gained another member of your family? That's a pretty big change if you ask me" I ask confused. "ALEX WE ALL GAINED NEW FAMILIES!" Luke says starting to get frustrated. "Okay Luke, let's start with you then, whats' your big change?" Julie says. "I'm not a ghost for starters."
"Okay, what else?"
"I...I... I... don't know that's all I could figure out."
"Well, that's just great isn't it. Adding a new member to my family doesn't seem so insignificant now does it?"
"I was dead! I hadn't been around my family in over 25 years!" The two of them start bickering back and forth. "HEY!" I yell. "If we want to figure out what's going on then you two have to stop fighting." They both roll their eyes. "Reggie, what changed in your life?"
"Skip, still trying to process my new life."
"Oh brother not this again," Luke says implying this is not the first time they have had this conversation. "Okay, I have a new Mom, no idea who she is. I have a step Mom she's super nice and my little brother is now my father. I have an older sister named Arianna, and a younger sister named Addison. Luke, you go next."
"My life is pretty much unchanged from what I can tell. I still live at home, and my parents are actually supportive, so that's new."
"Okay, Good, Now it's Julies turn."
"Well, I have a new older brother, but that's all that's different for me."
"Okay, Reggie, It's your turn."
"I don't want to."
"Reggie, this is a judgment-free zone, what changed in your life."
"Well, I have a Dad, and two younger siblings a younger sister, and a younger brother."
"Okay, Do you know their names? Do you still live at home with them?"
"Well... Um...."
"Oh for the love, Reggie is getting adopted, Julies family is adopting him."
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah, Reggies going to be my big brother."
"Okay, that's good to know, So where are we headed?"
"We are headed back to my house," Reggie says. "Then hopefully we can pice some more together of what's actually going on."
