(Y/n) wasn't sure how she would follow through with her plan: she didn't want L or the director-general to die but didn't know how to stop either situation from happening. Normally, a solution would've arisen swiftly but for once she was baffled. If L appeared on TV, Kira would indubitably take the opportunity to murder him in front of millions. If L didn't appear, however, the director-general was done for since his face was already public to everyone.

Perhaps L could pull the "Lind L. Taylor" stunt from earlier and send in a sub to speak for him; if Kira made a move he could fake his death while simultaneously continuing the case from the shadows.

No, there's no telling how long it'll take for L to solve the case; he can't just sit back and do nothing while he's pretending to be dead. Too many will die.

Shit. I'm stupid.

(Y/n) grumbled in frustration, trying to figure out a solution to what seemed like the most difficult problem she's encountered so far.

The door creaked open, Mr. Yagami walking inside and sighing. "Ryuzaki, I'm afraid it's as you thought," he muttered, taking a seat, "several of our member countries have weighed in and it seems they are in favor of having the real L appear on TV."

"You can't!" (Y/n) unconsciously spoke out, quickly realizing her mistake and immediately hushing up.

"I think that's the most appropriate choice, given the options," L responded to Soichiro, ignoring the girl's exclamation completely, "well, we still have three days before it happens. Maybe we can find some countermeasure. After all, this would really annoy me—" The detective took a bite of his cake, practically swallowing it whole. He seemed unbothered — composed. It was almost as if the boy already had a plan shaping in his brilliant mind.

"If I'm killed by the first person to jump on the Kira bandwagon—"

"Ryuzaki, what do you mean by that?" Yagami asked L.

"That there's a strong possibility that this Kira's a fake. No, we should think of him more as a second Kira."

"A second Kira?"

"I-I don't understand. Why do you think there's a copycat?" Aizawa asked, "how did you come to that conclusion?"

"I looked at the victims he used for his predictions on tape number one. Their purpose was to prove to Sakura TV staff that he is Kira. Both their names were only reported in tabloids and daytime talk shows so they weren't exactly hardened criminals," L responded, munching on a piece of strawberry that fell off his cake.

The girl agreed with him completely; there was no need for Kira to prove his identity by murdering such insignificant criminals. The world already knows of Kira's power, and going onto Sakura TV seemed like he was going out of his way to prove something unnecessary.

"From the perspective of the second Kira, he would want to make absolutely certain that he didn't predict the death of a criminal that could be killed by the real Kira first," he continued.

"Ryuzaki, if you had to put a number on it, what's the probability of a second Kira?" (Y/n) asked him.

"This time, I'd say it's more than seventy percent," he muttered uncomfortably. It looked like something was bothering the detective, but she didn't know what. "I really don't like the way he operates. It's not like Kira."
