At Nikhil's request, Daya had reread everything they had about Priya’s murder. As Nikhil had told him, they didn't have much. She was gone about a week before she was found dead. The date of her departure matched perfectly the date of Shreya’s last assault. He knew there was no connection between these two facts, but the date mattered to him and that was reason enough for him to notice it.

Little Adarsh was gone a week before his mother found this so-called job. But what was it exactly? Who did she work for before she died? What job was so dangerous that it would lead to death? He had no idea, but he would find it. If he found out for whom and where Priya was working before her death, he would find her son, that innocent little boy who was sure to be terrified right now.

Few weeks earlier he had worked on this abduction baby business and had a hard time getting over it. Now, having buried the woman he loved, he had to investigate the disappearance of a little boy whose mother had just been murdered. He didn't know if he would be able to do his job properly, but he had to. He was this child's last hope.

Daya grabbed the letter that had been found at the victim's home, a threatening letter. Her son had been taken away by her new employer who threatened to kill her if she did not do as he ordered. Nothing in the letter said what she had to do, but given her training as a nurse, she had a pretty good idea who it was. She certainly had to take care of someone at home. But who? And why kidnap and threaten her son for that. Why not just ask for her help?

It just didn't make sense. Unless the person she has to take care of is dangerous. A mafia? A wanted criminal? Definitely something like that. If he had to go around the complete list of wanted criminals, he would have it for days, if not weeks. The list was far too long. He had to focus on the city of Mumbai. He needed to find out who were the most dangerous criminals in town and who needed special care.

He put the letter down and got up from the chair. He looked around and his gaze fell on Shreya’s desk. He knew that it would be difficult for him to come back to work here knowing that he would never see Shreya at this desk again, but he knew that in time he would get used to it. He just hadn't imagined he would come back so soon and it was a lot harder than he thought.

He went to the kitchen to make himself some tea and clear his mind. Before, Shreya would have joined him, he would have brewed her coffee and they would have drunk their drink while discussing the current case. Now he was alone and would stay that way for the rest of his life. He then made a decision. When he found little Adarsh, he would quit. He couldn't work here anymore, too many things reminded him of what he no longer had.

He shook the dark thoughts away and put the water to boil. While he waited, his phone rang. He took it out of his pocket and was surprised to see Purvi's name appear. Despite her marriage to Rajat, he could not bring himself to change her name in his repertoire. She would always be Purvi Malhotra to him, the somewhat naive young recruit he loved to tease.

- "Purvi, how are you?" He asked picking up.

- "I'm doing as well as possible," answered the voice a little hoarse of the young woman.

-" What can I do for you?" He inquired.

- "Rather, that's what I can do for you," she began. "You know I did some research for Shreya when you left for Bangalore. Well I got some information that you should be interested in."

-" I'm listening to you."

- "This is Karan Bohra. I just heard from a reliable source that he is here in Mumbai."

- "What? Who do you get this information from?"

- "I can't tell you, but there's no doubt. He's fine here," she finished.
