A month, it had been a month since the CID team had been trying to find little Adarsh, but so far they had no leads. Some officers had given up, while others continued to search for the little boy. Contrary to popular belief, Daya had definitely returned to work. Sachin had suggested to give up, regretfully of course. For him too it was difficult to imagine leaving this poor child alone at the mercy of the criminal. But without a trail, without knowing where to look, how could they hope to find him?

But Daya had refused. He had therefore resumed work, helping with other matters while continuing to look for the child. Finally, realizing that he couldn't change his mind, Sachin offered to help him. So in the evening, when he got home, the two men sat down at the kitchen table and reread everything he had found so far, that is, not much.

Daya had compiled a list of potential accomplices for Karan Bohra, in addition to Vijay Mehta. The list was not very long, only four names. But it was good enough for Daya and Sachin. The two men had agreed on one point: they would keep it all to themselves until they had more. And today it was. They had found Vijay Mehta’s hiding place and with luck they would find Karan Bohra and little Adarsh as well.

Daya did not know if he would be taken seriously, because his first leads had all turned out bad. Abhijeet had warned him that he could no longer afford to send officers down bad leads, that he needed them for more important business. He knew how important finding this little boy was to Daya, but Abhijeet was accountable to his bosses. Daya could understand it, but that didn't mean he could accept it.

So he was now in the car with Sachin heading to the house where they were sure they would find what they were looking for. It wasn't safe, Daya knew it, Sachin knew it. If Bohra was there, they could very well die and no one would know for at least two days. Daya's not working on weekends and Sachin having taken a few days off. Ruhi was gone with friends for two weeks, so she wouldn't worry. But they had to do it.

The car stopped about two blocks from the property. They didn't want to take the risk of being caught. Sachin walked over to the safe, opened it and pulled out two bullet-proof vests. The two men put them on without a word. Then Sachin pulled out a gun which he hung on his belt and handed another to Daya who looked up at him in surprise.

- "Look Daya, I know you don't like guns after what happened two years ago," Sachin started, "but it could be dangerous and you might need it. Besides, I know you can use it, you already have done it before."

- "Very good, but I hope I don't have to."

Daya put the gun in his jacket pocket before turning to face the street. Nearby was the man he hated most in the world, as well as an innocent little boy who risked death if he stayed there any longer. When he turned to Sachin again, the man had closed the trunk and was getting ready.

- "We don't take risks," Sachin clarified. "We go in, we locate the place and we go out. If we see anyone, we make sure of their identity and we go out." He put his hand on Daya's shoulder for his full attention. "No way to do justice either. I know you blame him for Shreya’s death and I understand you perfectly. But don't do anything Shreya wouldn't want you to do."

- "She died because of him, I can't let that man go."

- "No, but I promised Shreya to take care of you," in front of Daya’s surprised look, he explained. "A long time ago, when you were still in Chennai, Shreya made me promise that the day something happened to her, I had to find you and take care of you, make sure you didn't sink into depression. . "

- "I am able to take care of myself," answered Daya, both annoyed and touched. "But knowing Shreya I didn't expect less. She made me promise the same. If anything ever happened to her, I had to take care of you, Ruhi and your family. She wanted all of her family be united, even though she was no longer there to see them. "
