Daya still found it hard to believe that it was all over, that Karan Bohra would never be able to attack Shreya, his family again. Because that's what he had found: a family. This strong woman, this woman with a strong character who never let it go. She was in his life and would stay there forever.

He who had nevertheless sworn that he would love no one again when his mother died, he who never wanted to suffer again as he had suffered when his mother had left him. How did he get there? How could things have changed so much? Shreya, quite simply. The trust, the love she had always had in him, sometimes without even realizing it. It was all thanks to her and he would always be grateful to her. He loved her more than anything.

He turned to the bed and let his gaze slide over to the woman sleeping there. He would never tire of watching her. He could spend hours like this, just staring at her. She was so beautiful. Her still round belly stood proudly under the blanket and one of her hands rested on it, as if to protect their unborn child. Even in her sleep she remained protective of the weakest.

This too was difficult for him to admit. He was going to be a dad, Shreya was giving him a child. He didn't know if he had the right, after what had happened to his first family. Ever since he knew about Shreya’s pregnancy, he kept thinking about his mother. He had lost her far too soon. And although Shreya had told him many times that he shouldn't blame himself for their deaths, he couldn't help it.

How could it be otherwise. After all, was he not indirectly responsible for the death of his mother? If he hadn't spoken on TV and challenged him, the killer wouldn't have come after her and she would still be alive. But then, Shreya would not live these moments of happiness with him. Could he really regret what he had been through?

He would always regret losing his mother, but he could never regret finding Shreya, Adarsh and waiting for their child to come.

A noise caught his attention and he turned to the door to see Adarsh arrive, one arm clutching a soft toy firmly to his chest as his small fist rubbed his eyes. His hair was messy, his SpongeBob pyjamas so big to him made him look even smaller. A smile split his face as the child walked up to him and held out his arms to him. He lifted him easily and the child buried his face in his neck.

"Is mom still sleeping?" The little boy inquired in his still a little sleepy voice.

"Yes, mum is still sleeping," Daya replied, turning to the bed so Adarsh could see for himself. "I suggest we let her sleep and go have breakfast."

"Can I make mom's lunch?" He asked. "She must not get up, she must not move. It's too difficult for her."

"You're right big boy," Daya smirked as she led Adarsh out of the bedroom. "A breakfast in bed would make her happy." "

Daya found it hard to believe he was going to have a baby. On the other hand, the child in his arms reminded him every day that he was already a dad. This child who could have died, this child that Shreya had saved at the risk of dying herself. She had decided that she would take care of him, that she would become his family, since he no longer had any. And now he himself was his family.

Adarsh was now his son, at least in his heart. There was nothing legal yet, but it would be soon. He had in his pocket a small box which he intended to give to Shreya soon. But not right now. She wasn't ready yet, she might not be ready for a while. But whatever. He would be patient. She had been for him all these years, waiting for him to be ready. She had tried to start a new life, but it hadn't helped. The feelings they had for each other were way too strong.
