Recap:
(Y/n) turned towards her best friends, "Are you guys going to stay? I think I'm going to go home." she asked.
Sekizan stood up from his position, "I'll send you home. But I need to get my bag from school though." he held a hand out for her to take and pulled her up. "Mutsumi, you coming?"
Hachioji stood up as well. "Yeah, I'm gonna go home too."
On with Chapter 19:
3RD PERSON POV
"Watching high-level games and playing high-level opponents. Both are important. But even more important is training hard with high-level players on your own team. There is nothing more effective for improving your own skills. Make sure you're teaching each other, got it?"
Komori was briefing the boys as they were lined up in front of him. Practice was about to start in a few minutes and he was giving them a small briefing/speech. Everyone was paying attention to the coach's words, but a part of them was focused on their captain who was pouting and sulking while having someone's arms around him. It even seemed like he was emitting a depressed aura too.
"Yes, sir!" Taira, the one who had his arm around Sekizan's shoulder, answered enthusiastically to Komori's words.
After that, both schools took this time to interact with each other and get to know the other more.
"Rie-chin!" Umeno greeted Keijo's manager and (Y/n) was following behind her. She greeted Keijo's other two managers before greeting Rie. "It's been awhile, Rie-san."
"No need to be so formal, (Y/n)! Just calling me Rie will be fine!" the manager reassured as she patted her on the back.
"Hey, idiots!" Keijo's coach, Hajima Yuji, shouted. "How long are you gonna keep flappin' your gums? Shake a leg and get warmed up, you morons!" This prompted the players, including Jinko, to immediately start doing warm up exercises.
Hajima turned back to Komori to apologize for his team being "full of boisterous boys", which Komori replied to saying that he was about to say the same thing. "I have a feeling well get along, you and I."
"Since we have so many players, why don't we split into forwards and backs?" Hajima suggested and the other agreed.
"Coach, we're going to prepare the drinks now." Rie informed the coaches. Before the five of them could leave, Komori called them. "Can we borrow your clipboards?"
After handing the coaches the clipboards, the five of them made their way to the water fountains. Before the field left their view completely, (Y/n) managed to get the glimpse of the players split into the two groups, forwards and backs, and Gion was with the forwards. She had to do a double take to make sure she saw that Iwashimizu was actually standing beside him, meaning that Gion was in fact placed with the forwards.
"Eh?" she expressed her confusion before running after the group.
...
"Only you two take care of the boys? The three of us can barely handle our own..." Rie was sharing her experience with the rugby team as one of their managers. It was nice to talk to someone who has something in common, this being having to take care of a rugby team filled with energetic boys as their manager.
"Ah, the boys listen to us well actually." Umeno said as she screwed the bottle close. "The third years are close with her too. Also, the first and second years like (Y/n)-senpai a lot." "Who likes who?" (Y/n) came by with another handful of cleaned bottles and placed it neatly beside Umeno.
