Recap:

"Try!"

"Eh? Gion had the ball?" (Y/n) must have blinked when Gion was given the ball. She didn't notice when it left Iwashimizu's hand and handed to him. But despite that, the team cheered loudly for the first year.

"Gion!"

"You did it, Gion!"

"26-16... Oh, jeez. I'm going to cry." Umeno said before looking at her fellow manager, "(Y/n)-senpai, you look like you're going to cry too." "Shut up, I'm not."

On with Chapter 26:

3RD PERSON POV

After the try, it was Kifune's turn to do the conversion kick. It was a sharp angle he had to kick from but he was successful in doing it. The game ended at 28-15 when a knock-on occurred and there wasn't enough time to continue. It was Jinko's win.

The teams gathered in a line and faced each other. "Thank you for the game!" they bowed to each other before heading back to their respective sides. "Jinko! We did it!" Umeno cried while throwing her hands into the air.

"What are you crying for, Ume-chan?" Hyosu asked her with a hint of teasing in his voice. "Because... Because, how long has it been since our last win?" "Ume-chan-san, congratulations! That was amazing!" Miki congratulated the still crying manager.

Meanwhile, (Y/n) was congratulating her friends on the field.

"Taku!" she ran towards the captain and didn't bother stopping herself as she crashed into his torso. Sekizan instinctively held her back to make sure she's steady on her feet. "(Y/n)?"

"Con-Congratulations on your win!" she stuttered as the overflowing emotions slowly came and tears were gathering in her eyes. Hachioji came by their side and (Y/n) did the same thing to him. "Mutsumi! Congratulations on your win!" he laughed at her reaction and pat her back as comfort.

Sano came up to Sekizan who was watching the scene and gave him a friendly slap on the shoulder. "What's the deal with you guys? You're freaking strong." he said before looking at his teammates, "Who called 'em nobodies? Ukyo, was it you?" "N-No, it was you!"

Sano wasn't the only one from Tenjiku that was complimenting Jinko's skills. Almost everyone was chatting with each other despite their previous rivalry. It was mostly Jinko awkwardly accepting Tenjiku compliments about them since they were literally fighting against each other less than 5 minutes ago, and all of their comments were relating to their strength.

Sano gave a soft punch to Sekizan's shoulder. "Thanks, man. Why aren't you saying anythin'?" "W-Well," Sekizan surprisingly stuttered, "actually... th-this is the first time we've won a game. We don't know how to celebrate." but Sano didn't believe him, "You liar!"

Before he could question any further, their coach called for all of them to pack up since they were leaving soon.

"Next time, let's meet at Hanazono!" the other captain declared before joining his teammates.

...

"Excuse me, Miki-san." (Y/n) called out to the girl after washing up. When the team had gone back to the inn, (Y/n) and Umeno headed to the bath to clean off the dirt and sweat off of them. (Y/n) took a quick shower and went to find either the Owner or Miki after dressing up. "Ah, (Y/n)-san."

"Is it okay if I help you guys cook for the team?" she asked and the girl was stunned. "Uhm, I can go ask my uncle?" she answered unsurely and (Y/n) followed her to where the uncle would be. As expected, he was still at the front desk reading his newspaper. Miki asked the uncle the same question and he too responded with a confused look on his face. "Do you usually cook for them?" he asked and the manager nodded.
