|10 ~ Is It Ovbious?|

I woke up to my alarm screeching in my ear again. I shut it off and stood up. A wave of deija vu hit me as I was scrambling to think about what I needed to do yesterday.

Oh right.
The Egg shaped thing...

 I got dressed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I squinted at the egg tattoo as I did. Did it get bigger?

Probably not.

I spit out the toothpaste water and began my skincare routine, easily covering the "tattoo" when I slipped on my mask.

I skipped breakfast and drove directly to the school. I went to the hangout area instead of the balcony due to the chilly wind that shook the trees. I sank into a beanbag and connected my air pods after taking off my mask.

Ain't nobody wanna see us together but it don't matter no...

I grabbed a sheet of paper and began to sketch. An old hobby I was never attached to. After a little while, I stretched out my arms to look at the illustration.

My trees were wonky and my mountains were lopsided. I crumpled the paper and shoved it into my pocket. 

"Hey! Ponk right?" Isabella sat next to me. I disconnected my air pods and shut off my phone.

"Yeah, that's me. Hey, Isa." I leaned back in my beanbag.

"So- about our squad. In stem I mean." Isabella said.

"Mmmm?" I responded.

"Do you have a crush on Sam?" She whispered excitedly. I nearly fell out of my chair.

"Where did- Where- Excuse me?!" I demanded as she began to giggle as she shushed me.

"Girls know this kind of stuff. Its painfully obvious, you know." She said in a smug tone. A blush began to form on my cheeks as I glared at her. 

My eyes flicked to a shadowy figure that withdrew as soon as I turned their direction.

"Who was that?" I turned to Isabella with a concerned face.

"Who was who?" She asked as the warning bell rang.

"Nevermind. See you in Stem." I stood up and waved to Isabella as I walked to my locker. I got my stuff and headed to my first period as the actual bell rang.

I sat in my seat and got two textbooks from the cart in the back of the classroom. I came back to my desk and set one out for Sam.

He arrived a bit later then usual today, with a calculation expression on his face. I smiled and waves to him. His trance broke as he saw me and nodded his head.

"Thanks for grabbing a book for me." He sat down. I waved my hands dismissively.

"Friends grace, Y'know?" I gave him nervous smile. 

Internally I was slamming a my head on the wall.

"Oh- we're.. Friends?" He tilted his head.

"Are- are we not?" I looked at him worriedly. He ran his fingers through his hair. I looked down at my textbook, feeling my face heat up again.

"I... Guess we are." Sam laughed nervously.

"Why are you so nervous? You okay?" I looked Sam up and down in concern.

"Oh no- just- wanted to ask you. Can I come over to have a sleepover with you? My mother and father are going on a date night tonight and.. I don't like being in the dark alone." He muttered, shifting his weight between his legs.

"Don't got to be so nervous man! Of course you can!" I said cheerfully. It felt as if I had fallen into a beautiful field of flowers and butterflies had exploded around me.

"Oh- thank you! I'll be coming over at 5, If that's okay?" He said. I saw his eyes crinkle and his nervousness ebbed away. I could get used to this.

"Well, Ill text you my address. My mom gave me your number a while back." 

~ LATER ~

I tapped my pen against my textbook page as I leaned my head into my palm. 

Biology is so boring. 

After a while I felt a tap on my shoulder and I woke up with a start. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"What... Happened..?" I whispered.

"You fell asleep." Sam whispered with a grin. I streched.

"Did the teacher notice?" I asked.

"No, but I got any notes you need while you were asleep for 20 minutes. The teacher is blind as dirt." He turned his attention back to his textbook, spinning his pen.

"Thank you, Sam!" I said with a smile.

"Friends grace, Y'know?" He said. I looked forward with butterflies in my stomach.

I'm looking forward to that sleepover.
