Chapter 16 - Eggpire

Bad's head shot up faster then a bullet and nailed me with a look that pierced through me.

"You were there?" He asked. I nodded nervously. Bad sat back and swished his dark red tail.

"Have you thought about your decision?" He asked instead. I recalled a memory about Bad asking me to join the Eggpire.

"What do i get out of it?" I asked. Bad smiled and tilted his head.

"Well, The egg is amazing! Who wouldn't help it?" I shook my head.

"I mean what do I get out of it?" Bad made a noise of understanding.

"Well, The egg wants to build an empire! Aannnd once we help it get the empire, It would make us royalty and grant us anything we wish! We would gain so much power!" Bad said cheerfully. My sensors were on high alert. Well for one, This... "Thing" was alive and not a nightmare after all. And two... it defiantly was manipulating Bad into this. Something under my eye began to throb.

"Are there others?" I asked. Bad nodded eagerly.

"Oh sure! There's Punz, Me, AntFrost and Captain Puffy!" I stroked my chin. Nobody I knew. My left eye began to hurt. I rubbed it but it didn't make the pain go away. I got up to dump my trash. I came back to see Bad standing up with wide eyes.

"What's wrong?" I tilted my head, Confused as Bad scrambled to a stand.

"Your- Your eye its- Its bleeding!" Bad frantically pointed at my eye as I spoke. I lifted a hand to check and yup. It was bleeding. Bad quickly pulled my by the arm into the nurses office, Passing by a tired Sapnap. 

"Hey?! What's going on?" He ran after us, Leaving his lunch sitting on the roof. I began to feel dizzy once we got into the nurses office.

"Oh my goodness- What happened?" The nurse stood up and led me to the sink. Bad filled Sapnap in on what happened while the nurse washed my eye. 

"I-i don't know-" I said through the water. I had taken off my hoodie and my mask was left in my pocket. 

"It just suddenly started bleeding!" The nurse finished washing my face and was gently patting my face dry.

"its still bleeding- I have some eyedrops that may help but for now keep a medical eyepatch on and use the eyedrops three to four times a day until you see a doctor about it." She dug in a drawer and got a medical eyepatch and put it around my head. She pushed a eyedrop into my hand and I pocketed it in my sweatpants. 

"Ill wash your hoodie and you can pick it up at the end of the day. Be careful!" I waved and walked out of the health office. Two steps later I was given a bear hug from behind by Bad and another by Sapnap.

"Are you okay?!" Bad asked. I nodded.

"She gave me a bottle of eyedrops and a eyepatch. I'm fine." Coincidence it was the same eye as my egg tattoo. 

"Sapnap- There's around 40 minutes of lunch left. You go finish your lunch and ill take care of Ponk." Sapnap opened his mouth to protest but Bad gave him a look. He shut his mouth and reluctantly walked off.

"Okay." I said as soon as Sapnap was out of earshot. Bad turned to me with a curious expression.

"When I was asking about the Egg, My left eye began to hurt, Then it began to bleed. Its where an egg tattoo lays." Bad looked stunned and surprised.

"Really? You've already been marked?" He said excitedly. I wasn't so excited. Panic and Anxiety slowly began to swallow me from the inside out.

"I-I have? How?- And- And when?" I asked frantically. Bad seemed to sense my anxiety and put an arm around me. 

"Hey hey! Its not that bad! The Eggpire isn't evil or anything. We just want a peaceful empire that you're part of!" That made me feel better. A little bit.

"How was I marked?" I forced out. Bad was now patting my back and leading my to a nearby bench outside of the cafeteria.

"Either you touched the egg or you have decided to join." He said. I sat down and shuddered.

"Against my will?" I asked. Bad shook his head.

"I don't know. I know I joined within my own will after I figured out its motives. I don't know about anyone else but me, Ant and Puffy. I know we all joined with our free will." He swished his tail.

"How was your appearance all white instead of red and black in the- The "Dream"?" I recalled him being all white with black skin rather then now.

"Oh! its more of an dimension shift. Otherwise called "Timeline shift" as Ant, Puffy and I like to call it. It typically happens when your sleeping or unconscious but you can also enter the dimension with your will. Its sort of like a new life but you can respawn since it technically isn't real." He explained. I understood a little better.

"How did I get pulled out?" I asked. 

"Usually its because you feel or want to wake up, If your under pressure or terrified, Then your more likely to wake up. If you wanna wake up or leave in general, That works too." I nodded.

"Thanks, Bad." He smiled.

"No problem!" He patted my back and stood up. I stood up as well. The bell rung and I jumped.

"Oh Muffins- Can you get to your next class okay?" I nodded. 

"Yeah. Thanks Bad!" He nodded and smiled, Then turned and went to his next class. I waked to my own as well, After getting my stuff of course. I took a deep breath and entered my Algebra class. Half of the class looked up and stared at me. Even when I sat down at my seat, Looking down at my desk with embarrassment. Why did I touch the egg? Why? I spaced out many times and I couldn't pay attention to anything for the rest of the day.

I picked up my clothes from the nurse and ran out into my car.

I came home and went upstairs to do my homework. My mom brought in tacos as she knew I was under the weather and didn't say anything. She's the best. I swapped into Pj's and I laid in bed at 7PM. I shut my eyes and tried to sleep. I could feel myself slipping into the dimension. Or as Bad called it, "Timeline".

I sat up quickly. I was in the same spot as I was when I conked out. I looked around and slowly stood up. Nothing had changed. I looked up to see a sort of... Minecraft-ish chat above my head.

I sat back down and waited.

And waited.

And waited.
