New Beginnings

Chp. 2

~Suga's POV~

"Crap, I'm running late. Thats the last time I help Tanaka and Noya study before practice."

Running at full speed I manage to get to the gym just in time.

"Hey Suga your late today."

"Hey Asahi. Yeah, I was trying to help the two idiots study. They should be right behind me."

With a laugh we both began strecthing for practice.

"Alright guys gather around Kiyoko has announcement."

Not wasting any time we all gathered around Kiyoko. She seemed a little nervous as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other.

"I just wanted to say that my cousin is coming to meet you guys today, and she's been through... alot these past couple months, so please be kind to her."

"YOUR COUSIN!"

I laughed as Tanaka and Noya started jumping around in excitement, and judging by the glare Daichi is given them. They are both in for a scolding in 3...2...1...

"YOU TWO! WOULD YOU CALM DOWN PLEASE!"

"YES SIR!"

I shook my head at them. Then a thought popped up in my head.

"Its kinda odd for a student to transfer in the middle of the semester. Is there a reason for that?"

She looked down a the floor and started fidgeting. I gave her a reassuring smile when she finally looked up again. She smiled back, but I could tell she was still nervous.

"You don't have to tell us if its a private matter."

"No, its ok. I just don't want you guys freaking out, and making a huge fuss about it, thats all. She transferred here from Nekoma, but as far as the reason, I can tell you the short version."

'Ok? I don't know if I like where this is going.'

"She tranfered her to start fresh and to get away from her abusive ex boyfriend. That's all I'm telling."

We were all stunned to silence. Seeing our faces range from sadness to anger, Kiyoko quickly tried to diffuse the situation.

"But she's ok now. I really think it would be best not to dwell on it too much. She just started smiling again."

Daichi sighed and then clapped his hands getting the teams attention.

"Alright guys if Kiyoko says not worry then we won't. It'll only make her cousin feel uncomfortable, so how about we don't mention what we know and try to make her feel welcome?"

Everyone agreed and started to walk off, but I could tell the mood soured. I better do something quick.

"How about I go buy some meat buns as a treat for Kiyoko's cousin and then maybe we could all do something after practice."

"Yeah. That sounds like a good idea."

"We could show her around a little after practice too."

"Great idea Asahi!"

"What about karaoke? Does she like karaoke?"

Kiyoko just stood there stunned for a second and then she smiled.

"Thanks you guys."

I smiled back and ran to get my wallet.

"I'll be back in a couple minutes. Go ahead and start practice without me."

~Natsumi's POV~

KNOCK KNOCK

"Come on in. What can I help you with today?"
