New Beginnings

Chp. 10

"HEY WHERE'D YOU GUYS GO!" Hinata screamed as he spotted me and Suga walking back together.

"Sorry I needed the restroom. So Suga offered to take me."

"Oh he did?" Noya said teasingly.

Then the whole team started to tease him, when Noya's phone went off.

"Hey guys Kuroo is throwing a party tonight. We're going right?" Noya asked looking around at the team.

They all agreed, but I wasn't so sure I should go. Suga saw my face and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"Come on Natsumi, it'll be fun."

I looked at him and then at Kiyoko who was nodding at me. With a laugh I gave in.

"Ok fine."

Everybody cheered and started heading home to get dressed. Suga walked me home, but stopped in front of my door.

"So I know I said it'll be fun, but if you don't want to go you don't have to. You know that right?"

'He's always so considerate.'

"I know, but I want to. I want to hang out with the guys instead of being stuck in the house by myself."

"Then I guess I'll pick you up later. Ok?"

"Ok."

He smiled and turned to leave as I went inside. When the door closed and the lock was in place I ran upstairs to pick out my outfit for tonight.

I decided to wear a peach colored long sleeve button down crop top with a matching skirt and some simple black heels. I put my long hair in a high pony tail and curled the ends into spirals. I was putting on the finishing touches on my make up when I heard a knock at the door. I run down and opened door to see a very stunned Suga.

"H-hey Natsumi you look great. Amazing actually. Did I mention gorgeous?"

He was blushing, and I laughed at his flustered state. I stepped up to kiss him on the cheek and then let him in.

"Thanks. I'm almost ready let me just grab my phone real quick." I said winking at him.

"Ok."

I run upstairs to grab my purse, keys, and phone. Making sure that I had everything, I went back down to leave out with Suga. As I got closer, I took a good look at his outfit.

'Yep definitely hot.'

"Ok ready." 

We walked out the door, and I locked it. Grabbing my hand, he walks me to his car, and opens the door for me.

"Thanks."

He smiled and winked at me before closing my door and getting in on his side. It didn't take us long to arrive at the party and as soon as we walked in all eyes were on me making slightly nervous. Suga noticed and slipped his hand in mine when someone approached us.

"What's this? Suga has brought a gorgeous woman with him? I am shocked." The guy teased as he walked up to us and I laughed.

"Kuroo this is Natsumi. She is our new manager. Natsumi this is Kuroo, he's the captain of the Nekoma volleyball team."

I froze.

'Oh no.'

Trying to be cool and not freak out, I reach out my hand to shake his.

"Nice to meet you."

"Like wise, I hope you guys enjoy the party." He said as he walks away.

Suga leans over to my ear so he could her over the music.

"He isn't here. I asked Kiyoko to look out for him, just in case. However, if he does show up we can leave at anytime."

For a moment I looked at him shocked. He knew I was going to be anxious, and immediately tried to soothe my fears. I had to fight the urge to kiss him. With a smile I hug him tight, and I feel him wrap his arms around me. In that moment  I decided to try and move on and not let my past hold me back from this wonderful man. Stepping back I grab his hand and look around. I spot Kiyoko and the boys in one corner of the room, so we made our way over.

"Hey guys." Suga said.

"Finally you two show up." Daichi said.

"Sorry it's my fault. I took too long getting ready."

"I'm kidding Natsumi. Relax a little." He said laughing and I nodded.

Then all of a sudden a song comes on and like that me and Kiyoko made eye contact. I grab her hand in excitement and run to go dance.

"Damn I knew Natsumi had moves but Kiyoko too? I'm speechless." Tanaka said.

"You and me both." Noya chimed in.

A few songs later me and Kiyoko are still dancing when Suga comes up behind me.

"Mind if I dance with you?"

I smile and start dancing with him as he wraps his arms around my waist.

"I see you have some moves."

"I try... so about that date, how bout we go next weekend?"

"I would love to. Now lets go back to the guys I need a drink."

I grab his hand and started walking back to the team.

"Welcome back you two. Did you have fun Suga?" Noya asked wiggling his eyebrows suggestivly. Suga laughs and then looks at me.

"As a matter of fact I did. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe Natsumi said she needed a drink."

He then leans down and kisses my cheek.

"I'll be right back."

"Ok."

I  blushed and watched him go. Then I turn back to the team to continue our conversation when someone taps my shoulder. I turn to see the last person I ever wanted to see again.

"I finally found you."

Shigeru stood there in front of me grinning. Frozen I just look at him speechless. Kiyoko walks up to me noticing I'm just standing there.

"NaNa?"

When I don't respond she looks at the person talking to me and immediately steps in front of me.

"You need to leave." 

Shigeru looks at Kiyoko and pretends to be hurt.

"Aw, come on Kiyoko don't be like that. I just wanted to apologize for my actions the last time we were together."

He tries to reach his hand around Kiyoko to touch my face when another hand stops him.

"Is there something I can help you with?"

Suga was glaring at him as Shigeru snatchs his hand back and returns Suga's glare with his teeth clenched.

"This is between me and her prince charming, so no there isn't anything that YOU can help me with."

Suga moved to stand in front of me as they glared at each other.

'Oh, Shit.'
