New Beginnings

Chp. 14

It's been a week now and the doctor has finally cleared me to leave. It's feels like forever since I've been home, or seen the rest of the team. They made such a ruckus on that second day they were all banned from coming to visit with the exception of Suga and Kiyoko of course.

"Ok she's free to go, after you sign these forms." The doctor tells my aunt.

"Ok and thank you so much doctor."

My aunt signed the papers and then shook the doctor's hand before he left.

"Alright, Kiyoko and I will grab all of your stuff. Suga will you help her get to the car."

"Sure."

Suga turns to me and narrows his eyes as he frowns a bit. I know he sees the dark circles under my eyes, I haven't slept well for days because of the nightmares. He doesn't say a word though, as he just rubs my back.

"You ready to go home?"

I weakly nod my head, and reach for my cruches, but he just takes them from me, and hands them to Kiyoko. Then he picks me up bridal style, and begins walking out of the room. I lay my head on his chest as he walks to the car, enjoying his warmth. Kiyoko opens the back door for us and Suga helps me get in the middle so he can sit by the window. On the ride home I lean on his shoulder as I'm fighting my sleep.

"It's ok to fall asleep Natsumi. You need all the rest you can get." Suga says to me quietly.

I shake my head no, and he sighs as he let's it go. Finally we pull in the drive way of my house, and with the help of Kiyoko, Suga manages to walk through the front door still carrying me.

"Surprise!" The team shouted.

I look around to see the team has decorated my living room, balloons, streamers, and a huge 'Get Well Soon' banner. They all come running over as Suga puts me down, each one coming up to give me hug. I smile at them and start to cry because this is the sweetest thing they've done for me.

"We brought cake do you want some?" Hinata asks.

I nod and Suga helps me to the couch.

"Well in that case I'm gonna head home I have some work to finish. It seem like she has enough protecters so I know she's in safe hands." My aunt says.

We all waved good bye and everyone starts talking at the same time about what I missed. I slowly ate the cake they brought as I listen to their conversations, eventually I ended up falling asleep.

~Suga's POV~

"Looks, like she finally fell asleep. I'll be right back guys. I'm gonna go put her to bed."

I took her upstairs, tucked her in the bed, and then kissed her forehead.

"Sleep well NaNa."

Making sure the covers come up to her shoulders. I turn and leave to go back downstairs to sit on the couch.

"Are you guys staying?"

"Yeah, we want her to know we're here for her." Daichi said.

"I still can't believe this all actually happened. It feel like something out of a horror movie." Yamaguchi said.

"Yeah, I just wish she would tell us who did this or at least confirm our suspicions." Tsukishima said.

Sighing I look around the room at their faces.

"Look guys I know how you feel, but we can't force her to talk. She's been through enough as it is, so let's not add to the problem. For now all we can do is show her that we are here to protect her."

'I say that, but I'm just trying to put on a brave face.'

They all nodded and that's when we heard a scream and a loud thud come from upstairs.

"Nastumi?!"

Jumping up, I run upstairs with the team close behind me.

~Nastumi's POV~

I woke up from my nightmare screaming and so disoriented I fell out of bed. Then I heard loud foot steps pounding toward my door.

'No, he came back for me!'

Panicking I scrambled back against a wall. I look up as the door burst open and the lights turn on. For one moment Shigeru was standing in my doorway, then I blinked, and the next moment Suga and the rest of the team was standing in Shigeru's place. Shaking I realized where I was and started to cry. Suga rushes to my side and wipes my tears as he tries to catch his breath.

"Shh it's ok. Your safe now. Look at me. Breathe Natsumi. Deep breaths."

He hugs me while rubbing my back. I tried to take a deep breath but ended up coughing instead. My throat burned from screaming earlier, making me wince and rub my throat.

"Does your throat hurt?"

I nodded.

"Can somebody get her some water, please."

Yamaguchi ran off to the kitchen.

"Is she okay?" Hinata asked and Kageyama smacked the back of his head.

"Idiot, of course she's not ok." Kageyama said.

"Guys now is not the time." Daichi said sternly.

"Sorry." They said.

Yamaguchi walked back into the room with a glass of ice water.

"Here's the water Suga."

"Thanks. Here drink this. It should help with your throat, just drink it slow."

I took the water from him and took a few sips, the coldness soothing my throat.

"Better?"

I nodded, and heard a collective sigh of relief coming from the team.

"Good. Now lets get you up off the floor."

He sets the glass of water on my night stand and helped me get back into bed. Then he turns as if he's about to leave, but I grab his wrist. He looks at my hand then looks at me and places his other hand on top of mine. He smiles and faces the team.

"You guys go ahead and go downstairs. I'll stay here with her for tonight."

"Ok call us if you guys need anything." Daichi said as he herded the team out the room, then shuts off the light and closes the door.

"Alright, scoot over." 

I did as he asked, and he gets in bed with me and rubs small circles in my back while holding me close.

"Try to sleep, I'll be right here the whole time."

Before long I closed my eyes and fell into a peaceful sleep this time.
