New Beginnings

Chp. 22

~Suga's POV~

'Finally, I did it, and I can't believe she actually said yes! Maybe everybody was right. I was just over thinking it.'

We were almost back to the car when she stopped.

"Damn it."

"What is it?"

"I left my purse back at the tree. I have to go back and get it."

She looked frustrated as she turned to go back, so I stopped her.

"No, wait. I'll go run and get it. You stay here and I'll be right back."

I kissed her, then ran back to the tree before she could stop me. As soon as I get there I grab her purse, and I'm about to run back when my phone rings. It was Officer Tachibana, so I stopped to answer.

"Hello?"

"Please tell me your with Ms. Shirai. She wasn't answering her phone, and she's not at home."

He sounded frantic, which made my blood run cold.

"Yes I am. What's wrong?"

There was a pause before he continued.

"Shigeru, got away. When we went to go arrest him a two days ago, he slipped through our fingers. We kept an eye out for him, and there were reports of him being spotted near Ms. Shimizu's today, but we couldn't find him any where. We have Ms. Shimizu here at the station, so she's safe, but with him out on the loose Ms. Shirai isn't. I need you to bring her here to the station, or better yet give me your location. I'll send an officer to pick you guys up."

I was already moving halfway through his explanation.

"How could you not tell us this sooner. I wouldn't have brought her outside, or left her alone!"

"I know we dropped the ball, but right now my main concern is making sure that poor young lady is safe from that monster."

'Dropping the ball is an understatement, but he's right I can be mad after I make sure Natsumi is safe.'

"We're at the park on West 3rd St."

"I'll send a car now, stay alert until we get there."

"Ok."

I hung up, and started running as fast I could back to Natsumi.

"I'm so stupid I can't believe I left her alone even for a second. Please be ok." I prayed.

~Nastumi's POV~

I was waiting for Suga to come back when I heard footsteps behind me.

"Wow, Suga, that was quick."

I turning around, but it wasn't Suga.

"Hey princess. You look really pretty today. Did you do all that for me?" Shigeru said walking towards me.

"No. Your supposed to be in jail."

I backed away and he laughed.

"See after you so graciously put the police on my trail, I had to go into hiding. It worked for a while, but then I got a little lonely, so I just had to come and see you." He said glaring at me.

Suddenly a twig snapped in the bushes distracting him. Not wasting any time I ran past him in the direction that Suga went off to. I made it past him, but didn't get very far as Shigeru tackles me to the ground causing me to scrape my hands and knees. He flips me over onto my back and straddled my hips.
