Only Darkness Lies

Chapter 8

The day was dark and cloudy, it was going to rain for sure. Elvira and Elfred went to the Troupe's hideout to face them. They were ready to fight since they knew that it was what the Troupe wanted as well.

The cold and brittle air bit their skin as they rode fastly towards the Troupe's hideout. It wasn't guarded and they didn't encounter any traps as well.

"It seems that you are really bad at judging your opponents because unless you were, you wouldn't have come here to fight us. You had probably got my note. Well, I am the boss around here." A masculine voice said as they entered the hideout.

A strong, masculine and tall man stood before them. He looked strong and held a sword in one hand.

"Yes we did, but that wasn't enough to frighten us." She said bravely.

Two men were with rifles and the other three with knives. Willia and the other 4 women had shotguns with them.

The three men with knife charged towards them. Elvira and Elfred were barehanded.
Elvira stopped two of them with her power and Elfred was taking care of the other. He kicked him in the abdomen making him drop his knife. Elfred was quick to grab it and stab him in the hand and shoulder twice with it. The attacker fell on the ground, screaming with pain.

The other members were watching Elvira, surrounded by a blue light. They  stared at her in horror as she used her power to crush their arms. Both of them couldn't attack her anymore.

The other members started firing, Elfred and Elvira managed to dodge most of the bullets and hid behind the pillars. Seeing them run and hide, Reim laughed at them and said in a dominating tone "Yes, that's your place don't come out of it and you might be able to delay your deaths"

His words were enough to send Elfred into a frenzy. He came out of hiding and ran straight to attack him with the knife he had but as he ran towards Reim, another member shot him on the leg and palm. He dropped his knife and fell on the ground screaming in pain, Elvira rushed in. She used her power and dodged the bullets. She was controlling their motion was able to save herself and Elfred from getting hit. She quickly grabbed Elfred and ran with him behind a pillar. He was bleeding badly.

Elfred asked her to continue fighting because in his condition he couldn't fight them without getting hit by another one of the bullets. Suddenly a bullet hit the pillar. Elvira was furious, she crushed and killed the man who shot that bullet at once.

Reim looked impressed and at the same time horrified by her powers. She moved towards him and by changing the direction of the incoming bullets with her power, used them to attack the remaining members. Willia was shot in the head and died in an instant, two other women were shot in the hand and abdomen. Neither one of them could get up again.

Reim was able to dodge all her bullets. He was deflecting them with his sword but he missed one of them. It could have hit him if the only uninjured women hadn't tried to protect him, by coming in its way and getting shot instead. She was shot on the chest and fell down at Reim's feet.

The only people who were left to be dealt with were Reim and one of his members with rifle. The man started firing bullets at a great speed which was hard for Elvira to match. She wasn't able to dodge all of them and though she was shot in her right palm, she continued to fight and crushed his rifle along with the man's arms.

Reim took the opportunity to attack her from behind but Elvira managed to dodge his attack. His attack was so powerful that it shattered the cemented floor as soon as his sword touched it. Elvira tried to crush his sword but found herself being unable to do so. She couldn't fight someone like that, someone that strong.

She was trying her best to crush his body and kill him while also dodging the sword but it had no effect. Suddenly, a bullet hit him on the right chest, he  lost his balance for a moment but it wasn't enough to kill him and he got up again. Elvira took the chance and punched him hard in the face. He fell on the ground with great force. Then, Elvira with great might, used all the power she could gather to crush him.

Reim screamed with pain as his body was crushed by her power and died, cursing Elvira.

Elvira looked up to find that Elfred was holding a gun, breathing heavily. He was the one who had shot Reim.

Elvira took Elfred with her and left the place. They made their way back home, safely, in the rain.

A doctor was immediately called to remove the bullets from them. Mass of villagers surged outside their cottage to thank them. They had finally got rid of the Troupe.
