She was in a hallway with big glass windows. Some of the windows were open and the area was lit by sunlight. It was all dusty and covered with dry leaves, unlike the outside of the mansion which looked new.

Elvira's wound was troublesome as she was unable to use her right arm. She ran on the hallway to get to the other side, strongly holding her right arm. She hadn't thought that killing Ekom would be so much difficult. It was as if she was going to die even before she could attack him.

She reached the other side of the hall. The wall had a big open window, which led to a clean corridor.

She checked both sides before leaping out of of the window, landing on the corridor. There were two rooms on its either ends and she was standing closer to the right end. She slowly opened the door and peeked inside, it was bright and lit by the sunlight. There was no one inside, so she went in. It had huge bookshelves filled with different kinds of books and a settee near the window. She exited the room, closing the door behind her and moved slowly towards the left room. There was an arched doorway on its right side. Elvira peeked out of the doorway, it connected the corridor to the guest room with the main gate up front. The guest room had a staircase near the doorway that led to the floor above.

She decided to check the left room before moving to the top floor. She was about to open the door when she was startled by a noise from the inside. She peeked inside through the keyhole. There was a man, leaning on a chair. She could only see his shadow like figure, unable to figure out who he was as the room was dark.

Elvira decided to take him down when she had a chance. She thought that she could easily ambush him and kill him. She slowly opened the door a little, without making a sound and put her hand inside the room, directed at him. She used her power to immediately crush his neck and he didn't move or make the slightest sound, just the sound of a crack.

It's done at last.

She entered the room, to check on his identity, wishing that it was Ekom or his right hand man, whom she heard about at the hospital.

She cautiously entered the room and looked around but there was no one. She went near the chair and stared over the face. Her expressions changed. It wasn't Ekom nor his right hand man, it was a mannequin.

It was all a trap to lure her in. She hurriedly went out of the door and towards the staircase.

Just as she was about to climb the first step, a bullet pierced through her left leg. She fell down and shut her mouth to avoid letting out a scream. The pain was excruciating and her left leg was bleeding badly.

This sudden attack confused her as the bullet was fired from behind. But how could it be? She had checked this floor herself and there wasn't anyone here. Or maybe, she was mistaken.

The sound of loading the gun made a chill run down her spine as she dragged herself towards an adjacent wall.

Am I going to die? She thought to herself and tears rolled down her eyes. Aden's memories began to fill up her mind.

Then she heard the sound of footsteps coming in her direction, nearing every second.

She could feel her heart pounding against her chest and the rush of adrenaline pumping through her veins. She had to protect herself.

As she saw someone nearing the doorway, she used her power to smash that person on the wall. She didn't even give it a second thought. The force was so strong that the wall cracked a bit on the spot it was hit.

There were no more sounds and when she finally came to her senses, she dragged herself towards the doorway to see the victim of her ruthless force.

Her face turned pale as she saw him. It was Elfred, her friend. She broke down and began to sob, seeing the desperate condition shd had put him in. He wasn't dead yet and had a surprised look on his face. His mouth was filled with blood and his head had sustained serious injury, bleeding badly.

Elvira dragged herself towards him murmuring "I'm sorry". She held his hand on her own and apologized to him. "I'm so sorry, I..I didn't know it was you."

"Neither did I." Elfred said holding her hand tightly. He knew he couldn't make it out alive. Tears rolled down his eyes as he said his final words, "I'm really sorry for causing you so much trouble and thankyou for all your help in the past."

He closed his eyes and his body began to cool. He had died and she was the one who killed him.
Elvira sat there for a moment, sobbing in front of his motionless body, still holding his hand.

Her rage towards Ekom skyrocketed. To think, he made her kill a friend. She gathered her strength and stood up, ignoring all the pain.
