- Lexa POV -
When we got to Clarke's bedroom i saw how little stuff she has to pack. It was quite concerning considering she had lived in this room all her life. I probably had more stuff and i had been constantly moving around.
"clarke, princess..."
"yeah? whats up?"
"why don't you have much stuff? you have the bare necessities but nothing that makes you, you."
"i do have a place where i keep all my stuff. i just have stuff in here to make it look like i'm always here. mum usually isn't home so she doesn't notice my lack thereof of possessions."
"You have a place where you keep your stuff? Can I- Would you be able to show it to me?"
"Sure. I don't have to hide from you."
She led me up towards some stairs outside her room, from her balcony. i climbed up them after her wondering where this was leading to. It all became clear once we reached the top of the stairs.
I looked out and saw the most amazing sunset from the roof of her house. It was filled with pinks and oranges and yellows, all bright and vibrant against the darkening sky. Also on this balcony was a gazebo, that covered her bed and closet and desk. It had strings of fairy lights everywhere and they gave the place a homely feel. I understand why this is her go-to safe space. Just standing here makes me feel something i haven't felt in a while. Relaxed. Completely safe. It's as if nothing here can get to me. I love it.
"Wow." I was at awe of this place, lost for words.
"I know. I come here when things start to get loud. Up here everything is quiet, no noise and no people. You're the only other person who knows about this. My mum knows not to come up here but she doesn't know what it is. I love drawing up here and the sunset view is the best i've seen in a while. I'm going to miss it."
I felt bad that she was leaving this amazing place just to come live with me.
"Why miss it when we can just make one as well on my house. We'll be able to see the sea from there too, It'll be our safe space, i'd like you to feel just as comfortable there as you do here."
"Anywhere i'm with you i feel safe."
That sentence was enough to make me fall in love with Clarke all over again.
We stood in silence as we watched the sun go down. I was standing directly behind Clarke, my arms wrapped around her shoulders, protecting this precious moment that i'll remember forever.
After a while, the sun had disappeared, replaced by the glowing moon and i knew it was time to go.
"Come on babe. Lets go"
"But we haven't packed anything?"
"These are just material things, all we need is each other and Aden of course. We can buy you new things. Everything here feels as if it belongs here."
"Ok. Lead the way."
With one last look at the area, we left and I drove to our new home.- Clarke -
the journey there was pretty quiet; other than the sound of cars as we're driving fill the silence. I wasn't nervous about moving in with Lexa, I actually saw it as something i was excited for, i was longing to be there already. I was quiet because this moment seemed to deserve tha silence. It was a part of my life where i was beginning to be independant.
For a long time Lexa had been independant, at such a young age she shouldn't have to be. I'm going to do whatever i can to make sure she knows that she's not alone anymore. I'm never going to leave her side, just as I know she'll never leave mine.
We arrived 15 minutes later and i looked up at my new home. That was exactly how it felt. Like home. I've never felt so comforted by a building before. The thought of sharing this experience with Lexa meant so much more to me. She'd been absent for a year and now that she's here, it's like I want to make up for all the missed time.
I got out and went to open the door fo Lexa.
"You ready to do this?" I held my hand out to her.
"Yes. Aden is staying with Anya for a few days whilst we get this place sorted with furniture and stuff."
She took my hand and we walked to the door together, our breathing intensifying as we walked through the door. This moment was scary in a good way.
"Welcome Home!" Lexa said to we as she stared into my eyes and kissed me.
It felt so good to finally feel as if i belonged and this house and this family did. They allowed me t belong somewhere instead of hiding away.
"Lets get this place sorted." Lexa said.
"Tomorrow. For now, we got the house to ourselves..."
I saw Lexa's eyes widen as I lead her to the bedroom and closed he door behind us.Authors Notes:
