Arya, me, and Grey Worm quickly run to the storage room. When we enter the room I am shocked by what I see. The Northmen that were guarding the entrance are butchered. Arms are cut straight off or large slash wounds are visible. "Fuck... we need to get to Jon and Sandor. Quickly," I say and bolt through the passageway. Arya and Grey Worm follow close behind me. This Mountain guy is a nightmare. Those bodies were horribly mutilated. Their arms and heads were cut straight off or impaled by a sword. I thought I was done with this. My heart feels heavy from all the things I did and witnessed. It all weighs heavily on my shoulders. How much can one person take? I try to shake it off and push it aside for now. This is something I can not deal with now.
As we leave the passageway, we quickly turn to the secret bedchamber of Aegon IV. I frown when I don't see the Unsullied at the entrance. On the wall, heavy slash marks can be seen. It must have been the mountain. "Arya close the entrance behind us. We can't have anyone follow us," I say to her over my shoulder. Arya removed her armor and her appearance before we entered the passageway. I am honestly freaked out by her, but I can't deny that her ability was useful. Arya nods and starts to close the door when Grey Worm and I are inside. As we move down the stairs, I start to smell a horrible smell of something burning. "At least they killed Gregor..." I mumble and start to walk into the room. The whole room is a mess. The furniture is broken, blood covers the floor, and the Unsullied lie dead on the floor. I see Jon and Sandor sitting on two chairs. Both look exhausted and Sandor has multiple wounds on his body. In the middle of the room, a large body is burning and giving off a horrible smell. The black cracked skin is slowly melting away. A sicking sight. "I'm glad to see you two alive. Let's get the fuck away from here," I say to Jon and Sandor. Both of them nod and we walk back to the boats where Davos and the Dornish are waiting.
When the pier comes into view, we hear the sounds of bells going off. "I guess they found the mess we left in the keep. Davos, let's go," I say and place the unconscious Cersei in the boat. Grey Worm does the same and all the people still alive take their seats in the boats. When some distance is put between us and the castle, Davos looks towards me. "What happened in there? More than half of our people are dead," he asks. I look at Jon and Sandor. Jon sighs deeply. "The Mountain killed them. He was a terrifying opponent and hard to defeat. We stabbed, slashed, and even slit his throat. He did not die from those wounds. Only when we set him on fire did he die," Jon explains. "Gods... let's get back to the boat. We will debrief there. I'm done and exhausted," I sighed. I was silent for the rest of the boat trip. This whole mission made me think about my own actions and experiences. Fighting the dead, fighting in a war... I just want peace.
As the boat reaches the Greyjoy ship, we climb on board. We are greeted by Tyrion, Yara, Daenerys, and Varys. When both Jaime and Cersei are brought on board, they are put into two cells. The rest of us meet below deck for a debrief. I plop down on a chair while I detach Blackfyre from my waist and put it on my lap. When the rest of the group is sitting around the table, Daenerys turns to me. "What happened?" she asks me. I sigh deeply. "All went well. We found the room and made our way to the office of Cersei. Sandor and Arya were able to take out the guards, but the Mountain proved a problem. Sandor was able to lure him away towards the hidden room," I start to explain and turn to Jon and Sandor. "What happened? I saw the bodies... they were mutilated... arms and heads cut straight off," I ask Jon and Sandor.
Jon takes a deep breath. "He was merciless. While Sandor was leading him away, he cut through my men and the Unsullied like butter. When we finally came into the hidden room, Sandor and I were able to disarm him. It was not enough to stab in the heart or cut his throat. He had to be burned," Jon explained. "Gods, and how did it go on your end?" Daenerys asks. "Before Sandor led him away, everything was going well. We took care of the Queensguard by... killing them. Either by me or Arya and Sandor. When we reached Cersei, Jaime started to warn her. Luckily, we were quick enough to subdue Jaime and Cersei," I informed the group.
Tyrion looks extremely sad as he hears about the betrayal of Jaime. It is as if he is holding back his tears. He knows Jaime will face punishment. It breaks my heart a little to see him like this. "Tyrion, I am sorry. I tried to convince him, but he wouldn't listen," I tell Tyrion. A sad smile adorns his face. "You don't have to apologize, Visenya. I briefly spoke with my brother when he woke up. You did nothing wrong," Tyrion says. "I am so sorry, my love. This is my fault. I should have listened to you," Daenerys says.
I place my sword on the table. "It is over now. What is done is done. But I am done fighting, Daenerys. I can't take anymore of this. I fought and killed so many... saw so many die... I don't want to kill anymore, Daenerys. Please... let it be over," I sobbed while tears start flowing down my cheeks. Daenerys wraps her arms around me from behind while resting her head on my shoulder. "Rest, my love. It is over. You don't have to fight anymore," she says soothingly. "It is only politics from here on out. Let us handle it. Your job is done, my queen," Varys smiles. "Don't feel bad about Jaime, my gentle friend. I'll make peace with it. Let me, Varys, and Daenerys handle the rest. You can rest," Tyrion says. "Focus on the future. A bright future with a wedding and a peaceful life with Daenerys at your side," Jon says with a smile.
"Thank you, everyone."
