"Maya, this is serious! I got detention and one the first day of school! Not only do I got it but so does Lucas." I say loudly to her, while opening my locker. Maya was once again not listening to me, instead she was texting. "Are you even listening to me?"

Maya looked up from her phone and at me. "Of course I am Riles. I am always listening, but in my opinion you're thinking way to into this. Detention is detention, you'll be sitting in silence for an hour, you won't be able to talk so you don't have to worry about Lucas, and if you want I will stay behind in detention with you."

"Really, you'd do that? Wait, can you do that?"

Maya nodded and started walking towards the fire alarm. "Oh yeah, I just have to do something bad to get in."

"Maya, are you about to pull the alarm?"

"I have done it a few times before to get out of tests and usually get detention."

"Are you sure you want to spend your afternoon in detention with me?"

"Riles, you're my best friend of course I would and I have gotten detention so many times it is like a second home to me."

"Well, okay..go ahead."

Maya pulled the fire alarm and the wail of the alarm filled the hallways. Students began rushing through the school to get outside. All of a sudden Farkle ran into Maya and fell on top of her. The hallway was clear now and Mr.Matthews went over to them. "What is the meaning of this? Who pulled the alarm? Was it you Farkle?"

Farkle was getting up off of Maya at the time. He looked at my dad with a shocked face. I had to look away. It hurt my head to look at Farkle, because every time I do all the memories come rushing back.

"N-no sir, it wa-" Farkle began but was caught off by my dad.

"Save it Farkle, I'm really disappointed in you. You also are getting detention on the first day of school." He handed Farkle a pink slip. "I expected more from you Farkle. " Mr.Matthews said before walking off.

"That was suppose to be my detention slip Farkle. " Maya was saying this while picking herself up off the floor.

"Well I sure enough don't want it. How about next time Maya, you be more careful to where you stand so I don't run into you and get detention again." Farkle snapped at her before stalking off.

Maya rolled her eyes as Farkle walked off.
"Looks like I will be at detention with Lucas and Farkle now. The two boys that I absolutely don't want to be around." I sighed.

"The day isn't over yet. We still have a few more classes so that gives me plenty of time to try and get detention. "

"Thank you for doing this for me, Maya. You're a good friend."

"No problem Riles. Don't you remember what we promised each other last year? You and I against the world together."

I smiled at Maya, she may be the only friend I got but at least she's a real one.
