"I plan on taking you to the bakery." I said to Riley, as I intertwined her fingers into mine.

Riley smiled at me and said "Sounds good."

As we walked into the bakery I told Riley I was going to go get us some muffins while she found our seats. She nodded as I walked to the counter.

After the lady handed me the muffins, I was walking to the booth when I saw Farkle talking to Riley.

"Actually, Farkle. I am here with Lucas, were going on a date." Riley told Farkle as I approached the booth.

Farkle looked at me and said "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt."

"You're fine." Riley said to him

"Well...I must get going. I'll see you guys tomorrow. "

"Bye, Farkle." Riley and I said together, as he walked away.

"Here is your muffin, my darling." I handed Riley her muffin and smiled.

She returned the smile and said "Thank you," then took a bite of it. "Wow, this is really good."

I took a bite of my muffin and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it i-" I was caught off by a cell phone ringing, it was my phone ringing.

I looked at the Caller ID and recognized the number the be my mom. I looked up at Riley. "I'm sorry, its my Mama I have to take this." I told her before walking outside.

I picked up the phone and said "Hello?"

My moms chirpy voice said on the other line "Lucas!! Brett and Carter, your friends from Texas, are here!! They have been waiting to see you."

I got excited, I haven't seen my friends from Texas in a long while. "Really?!"

"Yep, Lucas. Why don't you come back home and talk to them for a bit?" She asked through the phone.

I looked at Riley sitting by herself through the window. "I can't, I am on a date with Riley."

"Lucas!" My mother's chirpy voice turned hard and mean. "Your friends, who came all the way from Texas, are here to see you! Do you know how long and how much money it costs from Texas to New York?! I bet you don't!"

"Mama, just calm down." I said into the phone to her.

I thought it would work, but I was wrong. Telling her to calm down made her more upset. "Lucas Friar! Do you want me to put you in the shed when you get home?!"

Oh no, not the shed. My Mama had always
put me or threatened to put me in the shed when I did/said something she didn't like. The shed was not a fun place, it was so dark and creepy. She would just keep me in there for hours.

"Uh n-no Mama. Not the shed. I will be there soon." I told her quickly before hanging up and ran to the subway.

Crap! I forgot about Riley. I am pretty sure she will be mad as fire when she finds out.

Just two minutes later I got a text from Riley saying "Lucas, where are you?"

I sighed and replied back to her with "Sorry for cutting the date short, my mama just called telling me that I had to get home quickly. Some of my Texas friends had come down!! I hope you will understand."

After I texted her I put my phone back into my pocket and got off the subway and to my house.
