Brandon had texted me telling me to meet him at the subway, I guess he wanted to take me somewhere. I responded back telling him I would and my way over to the subway. It was a good twenty minutes from my house, so I better start heading there now.
When I arrived at the subway station I saw Brandon talking to Farkle. As I approached them they stopped talking and both looked at me. It was weird that Farkle was talking to Brandon, but hasn't talked to me in a week.
"Uh, hey." I awkwardly said to them.
"Hello, Maya." Farkle said to me before he turned back to Brandon and wished him luck, after that he walked away.
I made a confused face at Brandon. "What was that about?"
He shook his head and sat down on a bench. "We need to talk."
I sat down beside him. Nothing good comes after the sentence "we need to talk".
"About what?" I asked him, curiously."Well, Maya." he grabbed my hand and looked at me. "My mom got a new job in Jersey, so I have to move."
"Okay? What's wrong with that? That's only a state over, we would still be able to hangout on weekends." I protested to him.
"Well, you se-" Brandon began, but I cut him off.
"Wait, you told Farkle before me? And I'm your girlfriend."
"Actually, I told a lot of other people before you." Brandon said, but he regretted it once he saw how mad I was. He was not helping himself.
I pulled my hand away from his hold. "A lot? How many?"
"Maybe 10? But Maya, I only told them for advice. I knew you'd be hurt, so I needed advice on how to tell you gently."
"And this is gently?" I snapped at him.
He was probably just trying to cover up for himself. Brandon didn't care except for when it came to himself. I can't believe now I'm heartbroken over a guy who didn't care.
Brandon's constistant blabbing was what cut me short from my thoughts. "Maya, I do really care. It's just moving to a new place and not being able to see each other will hurt you more then breaking up now. I am just trying to protect you."
Those words made my eyes roll. They seemed somewhat similar to what my dad had said before leaving my mom and I. He ran off to Jersey with some woman and has yet to get in contact with either of us.
Wait, a minute."Brandon." I cut him off and he looked at me. "How much do you really care about me?"
His response came out quicker then I thought it would. "A lot, seriously. You are the only rebel I want to be with."
I slightly smiled at his response. "I have a plan for us to stay together. "
"Thats great, do you plan on cluing me in on this plan?" he asked.
I nodded. "Yes, my dad lives in Jersey. I can tell my mom and friends that I am going to spend the summer with him, but really be with you."
"Where will you stay at?"
"I was planning on staying with you. Unless-"
Brandon cut me off. He smirked at me and said "No, you can stay with me. We'll have some fun."
I smirked back at him. "Ooo, my rebel. "
