As he turned the first page.. Lights of magic emerged, swirling out of the book with all sorts of colours. It's swirling, spiralling beams of lights brightened up the room. David took a step back and literally grabbed my hands since he's a big baby. The light show only lasted for a few seconds, once it was over, I asked him if it was safe to touch.

"I think so.." He said. And that's when I realised he was still holding my hands.

"uh.. Dav-" I didn't get to continue as he immediately took his hands away from mine and brushed his pale, golden hair with one of his hands to show his uncomfortableness. I chuckled at his reaction while he gave me a slight smirk that was filled with his shyness.

We both stepped closer to the book, and David read out what was written on the first page:

"Once you arise,
From the lies:
Of your thought
Is where, you will be brought."

"Huh?" We both said in unison. I didn't know what it meant so I turned the pages for more information, but the rest of the pages were blank.. They were empty.. Nothing written.

"Weird." I whispered more  to myself than David. I was hoping for some spells.. I mean, I know it couldn't really teach you spells.. Could it? Magic isn't real.. Right??

That's when my eyelids started to feel heavy and droopy, even though it was just 8:30 after sunset.

I told David that I was off to dreamland as I walked towards my mattress.

"I feel sleepy too, G'night!" He exclaimed as he tucked himself in bed.

I felt myself drift off to sleep in just a matter seconds, it felt like floating through darkness.

But the thing is.. I had a dreamless night.

As I woke up I couldn't believe my eyes.. I was laying on a patch of.. Purple grass?.. and the sky was green.. As Green as my eyes..

"Pssst.. David.. wake up.. you've got to check this out!" I whispered-shouted as I nudged him. Feeling fright yet excitement course through my veins.

"Ughh.. five more minutes mom!" He groaned from under me.

I rolled my eyes, "Its me David, lox! Not your mom!!" That made him immediately wake up, he looked at me, and started tinging pink.

"Where are we?" He asked with a seriously confused expression as he took in our surroundings.

"I don't know.." I answered back, my heart slowly starting to thrum faster.

"Hey look! There's that Magix book!" David shouted out to me as he pointed towards a pedestal with the book on it.

I got up to walk towards it. As we walked closer to it my as stomach grumbled. Making me turn a bit pink.

I took the book, and turned the book to the first page, it had said "1/7 riddles completed."

Huh?" I blurted out with all the curiosity that I couldn't hold.

"I think I know what it means." Said David looking back at me with a serious face.

"(Once you arise)
"I guess meant when you wake up"
(From the lies of: your thought)
" Means your dreams"
(Is where you will be brought)
"Well has something to do with this place.."

"OMG DAVID!! Your a genius!!" I screamed out with joy, he then gave me one of his charming smiles. I mean, it's actually quite obvious.. But hey, I wouldn't be able to think if that in a life-time!

"But wait.. How do we get back?" I asked him. My voice cracking the slightest bit. "

I..I don't know.." He said, and it felt like my heart was weighed down by something heavy, I could feel my eyes starting to tear up. And David looks down at me with worry-filled eyes.

"Shh.. Don't worry lox, I promise we'll be back home." He told me as he started to rub his hand in circular motions around my back, which actually made me feel better. The book suddenly began to light up again, and we both watched it as the swirls, once again arose from the book.

We both, once again stepped closer to the book, this time I read the riddle.

"A door to the past
A spell that is cast
The future of soon:
Is found in a tune"

"This riddle is confusing and plus, I can't think properly with an empty stomach!" I whined, turning to David with a sigh.

"Well then, let's find something to eat." He said giving me an unsure smile, he made me feel hopeful even though we weren't sure if we'd ever get back to our normal lives. I took the book and held it tightly against my chest, having a staring contest with the floor.

"Hey, we'll be fine." he insisted, giving me a little friendly push on the shoulder, I smiled to show that I wasn't too worried. But deep down inside, I wanted to cry to let go of all the feelings I had, I couldn't though because I didn't want David to loose his hope, so I stayed quiet. But I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for this, and I probably won't ever be!
