"We have to get out of here.. let's not loose time. " David says, his voice monotonous whisper, probably still mesmerised by what he just heard.

I got up and pulled Misty up with me, my knee is still trembling and aching from the fall earlier, my expression is blank, not even grimacing as I stand. I'm scarred for life, this scar will stay somewhere on me forever.

Ever wonder why I'm so strong? Honestly, I'm not. I've been putting up a mask all my life. Despite all my actions, deep down inside, I've always been scared, my heart always throbs at the slightest dash of jump scares in scary movies, how am I supposed to handle this?

David starts leading us through the exit of the room. I cautiously take each step as if I even make one wrong move, I'd fall into a death trap.

I think I've said this a lot of times, but with all honesty, I've seriously have never been this scared, in my whole life, like ever! Not even the werewolf was this scary.

I still hear distant whispering and breathing, but I try to ignore them. David takes a few turns right and a few left. Having no idea where we are going.

My hair feels greasy and my skin is rough and dehydrated. And it's really cold in here. Our feet lightly start thumping against the cold cobblestone floor. The lighting is the same dim red light I've seen from the first time I saw this place. It flickers every once in a while

We start heading straight, the eerie silence started to get to me so I decided to start a small conversation.

"Do you have any idea where we're headed to?" I ask David, who's still in the lead. "No" was the only answer I got from him. I then decided it wouldn't help because he will just answer with one word answers.

We reached a dead end with a huge wooden door standing right in front of us.

"In the count of three.." David instructs, leaning on the door with his hands against it. Misty and I follow suit.

"One. Two.. three!"

I let my weight to shift to my leg that's nearer to the door while I step back with the other. Pushing the door with my palms flat against it.

And guess what?

It worked! It's open!

I would've been dancing from happiness if it weren't as serious as it is. This is the matter between life and death, it's no joke.

Through the door is freedom, the nature, the open. We step outside and David grabs my hand while I grab Misty's, and we run.

The chilly breeze starts making me shiver. Birds were chirping above us as David started running towards the forest trees. We are running away from what we should solve.

I stopped, making David forcefully come to a stop as well.

"What are you doing Lox? We are literally moments away from saving our own lives!" David shouted almost angrily.

"What am I doing?! What are you doing? David, we can't get back to our homes if we run away from the riddle!" I shout back at him.

For a second he looks reluctant but replies, "Lox, it's way too dangerous. We've already lost a live. We can't witness another death, and knowing that they are mainly after you, I simply won't let you go back there."

Maybe he's right. But I'm not giving up, I'd rather die trying than to stay here and watch everyone else die.

I look at his face, he's lost some of the redness in his cheeks. His complexion is more pale than ever before. And his eyes seem gloomy, not to mention the cuts and bruises all over his face and body.

I frown, thinking about what he just said.

"David, we've been here for way too long. So long, that I don't even know how long. I've lost track if time, David. I can't bare staying here anymore! I wanna go home, I wanna be with mom, I wanna hear her scold me, I wanna go have science class." I stop to sigh, "I wanna make it like it used to be! Please, try to understand, please David, please!" I plead him softly. His expression changing from anger to guilt.

This is a choice between living or dying.

"Let's go get that book." He says firmly with a cold look in his eyes.

Demons, be prepared for living hell, because you are about to go down!
