Chapter 23- Why Life, Why?

It all happened in a matter of a blink of an eye, moving in lightning speed, one of the werewolves leapt at David, and slashed David's furry head off of his body, then chugged it's claw right through his torso, David knelt onto his knees before creating a painful moan, and fell to the floor. Dead. Blood pouring out of his body like spilling a freshly made jug of Berry juice.

I stood there, my figure frozen like a statue at the scene beheld in front. My heart literally stopped. I opened my mouth to scream, but no sound came out. The hideous creature started for me next, I don't know what happened but I turned into human, therefore no match for the threatening creature. In just about seconds, there it was, standing right in front of me. It grabbed my hair and pulled my hair hard enough to lift me off the ground, and there I was.. Levitating off of the ground due to the strength.

Then it talked to me, "Loxy, wake up." His voice a familiar one. David.

I woke up, my chest heaving from the nightmare. I closed my eyes shut, and tried to calm my breathing. "You okay Lox?" Davids voice asked from above me, I opened my eyes and looked up, and sure enough, there he was, with his head on. I jumped up and hugged him so tight that my arms started to hurt. David just stood there, surprised from the sudden move I made, I was about to back up, when his strong arms wrapped around me.

"What happened? Where are we?" I asked trying to remember. "Ermm.. You fell asleep a while ago, but started whimpering and sounded in pain, so I woke you up. We're still at the camp, I think you may wanna go back to sleep because tomorrow we have to get that rid-" I cut him off by literally shouting "WHAT?!" I looked around to see that indeed, we were at the camp, right on the log I slept on after I fought with Lizzy.

"I- I just dreamt that you were a werewolf and your head got cut off-.. I-I-" I just dug my face into my into the palms of my hands as I straightened my sitting position on the log. As I was positioning myself, I felt something in the back pocket of my dress, I reached in and took it out. Oh no..

The locket my dad gave me. This wasn't a dream not a nightmare either, not even the slightest bit, I pulled my dress a bit higher to find my scraped knee. Nope, it all happened. "David, we need to get to the riddle, now." I commanded, he seemed to want to object but came to the state where it's best not to, he nudged Misty, waking her up. "Lox, what's going on?" Misty asked sleepily, as I slung my pouch over my shoulder. "We are going to finish the riddle." I replied nonchalantly. I sighed, briefly put some food and bottled water into my pouch.

"What's going on?" Nora asked coming out of the water "I sensed tension." She finished. "Nora look, we have to finish the riddle. Now."

Nora seemed to hesitate at first but joined in the preparation. "Here goes nothin." She whispered waving her hands and creating the portal that appeared in front of us not too long before. "Are you sure about this?" Nora asked giving me a nervous glance. I nodded. She took a step in and we followed close behind, but this time the tunnel looked different. It wasn't dark and damp, in fact it was well-lit and the walls of the tunnel had vines creeping on them with colourful flowers.

I sighed, why can't life not hold his much suffering? I'm only seventeen for God sake! We made our way walking through about half way, and then it's when it started to descend deeper into Earth- or should I say Magica? As we got deeper and deeper into the blissful and heavenly tunnel, it soon started to get darker. I wanted one of those glowy ball that Misty always makes so I decided to try.

I put my hands in a circular form facing each other, then thought of the glowy ball I wanted. I was about to give up when I saw a zap of yellow between my hands. I tried harder, putting all my concentration on what I was doing. I felt the magic run through my veins and BOOM! There it was, the perfect spherical glowing ball.

This is going to be fun, yet scary.
