Hey guys! I'm sorry for not updating for so long, I was traveling and just got back, enjoy the story! Love ya! This is based off a conversation I just had with my mom

THIRD PERSON POV:

"I don't like it here." Percy commented, hiding his head in Annabeth's neck.
"I know, they're so boring."
"That's not it..." He sighed. "Can we leave?"
Annabeth frowned, sure, Percy had never enjoyed hanging out with her family (it's not like she did either) but he had never asked her to leave, he must have been very uncomfortable.
"Of course, don't worry."

When they got to her room Annabeth realized Percy was way too tense, awkwardly looking at the floor, his hands kept close to his body as if he was afraid to touch something, his cheeks were red and his eyes were fidgety.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I feel inadequate."
"Inadequate?" She frowned. "Why?"
He blushed. "Annabeth, why are there like... twenty four different forks on the table? Your dad was glaring at me every time I dared to try and pick up one. If I dropped a glass of water you know how I'd pay for it? I wouldn't, it costs more than my house!  Your room is bigger than my old house, no kidding. I feel so out of place, they act like I'm insane every time I mention how awesome or beautiful something is, like- I'm sorry I don't know the Great Wall of China! Sorry I have never seen a fucking Picasso painting  in a dining room!" His voice turned to irony in the end, as if he was mocking them.
Percy felt inadequate at her house, not because of her, but because of her lifestyle.
"You guys don't even appreciate how much money you have! 'Oh, let me lend you three thousand dollars! You can give it back tomorrow.' What the hell... I used to work my ass off as a kid, to stop my mom and I from getting beat up, my mom worked three jobs to keep me alive! Does it bother you that I don't know how to do this fancy stuff? That I'm not like you?" His last question was much quieter than the rest.
"Of course not." She took his face in her hands, kissing his nose gently, wiping the single tear that had escaped his eyes. "I love just the way you are. Let me tell you a secret." She whispered, watching as his eyes focused on hers, as if waiting impatiently for the big truth she was about to tell him. "I don't know why there are twenty four kinds of forks at the table, I don't have a fucking clue why they can't use the same." She smiled, watching him smile in return, kissing her.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love more, don't worry about that kind of stuff alright? I promise you it's bullshit."
He chuckled, resting his head on her neck.

That was bad, I know, I'm exhausted, anyways, hope you guys liked it! That was 520 words, have a good day/night! Love ya!
