CHAPTER 15 - On The Other Hand

Back at the destroyed laboratory, the scientist who captured Tenbris starred in frustration at the damage caused by the unforeseen explosion. "This can not be happening! I had him! He was right here!" The scientist screams and shouts in anger and resentment as he grits his teeth and stomps the ground. A girl who has the appearance of a sugar glider steps into view, "What happened here?" She says while hiding behind some rubble. A boy with the appearance of a chameleon crawls up to her and stops her, "Give it a rest Pom, don't risk it." A whole group consisting of eight kids who have the appearance of various creatures step into view.

A boy with tiger claws and fur asks, "Hey, where is Mach? I haven't seen him." A spider girl comes in, "That traitor probably got to that boy and escaped together, I swear I'll kill him next time." A boy with spikes coming out around his limbs and face holds her shoulder, "Calm down Doresal, let's see what all this is about." Doresal looks at the boy, "Let me go Ronin! This is already as bad as it is." A girl with a thick furred tail, ears, and fox-like features comes in frustrated. "Will you just shut up already? Mach betrayed us, that much is obvious from this situation... that bastard." Pom tries to calm her down, "Amliv calm down! Maybe Mach was caught in the blast?" A girl with a very small figure and a pair of red carnelian butterfly wings replies, "No chance, if it did there would be a corpse, and if there was Tyger and Ike would have easily located it." Pom looks disappointed, "Not you too Jem."

The scientist looks at the kids, "Which one of you did this?! How did that damn boy escape?!" Tyger replies in annoyance, "How are we supposed to know? We're not allowed here anyway." The scientist glares at Tyger, "You dare disrespect me you worthless trash?!" He points a device towards the kids, "I swear if none of you speak up, I'll blow your heads out on the spot!" Pom and Jem hide behind some rubble while the others stand in place, intimidated. Doresal however, screams in despair, "So what if you blow us up? You threaten us every time so that we can do your dirty work- Just blow our heads off already!"

"Doresal! Calm it down already! Nothing will help!" Ronin yells in frustration. The scientist gives off a menacing cackle, "Do you know what this means? DO YOU KNOW?!" Doresal screams, "I COULDN'T CARE LESS! KILL ME ALREADY!" The scientist points the device at Doresal, "Ok then you brat, you'll be the first to-"

Suddenly, a man appears behind the scientist. There is a moment of silence as the man's presence was enough to bring fear upon everyone around him. He asks the scientist straight away, "Where is the boy?"

The scientist turns around in pure fear and tries his best to explain what has happened, "M- my lord! H- he used the power of that ancient seal t-to escape." The man looks at the destruction, "Such a shame." He then talks again, "Where are the two perfect hybrids you were so proud of?" The scientist points to a dark corner, "One is sitting right there." A boy with a huge figure of a dragon was sitting quietly. He was the biggest and the most intimidating of all the kids. "I see, and where is the other one?" The scientist doesn't answer. The man moves a couple more steps towards the scientist, looking deep into his eyes as if he was staring straight into his soul. The man chokes the scientist, lifting him off the ground, "I'll ask again. Where is the other one?" The scientist struggles to get his words out. "H-he e...scaped. The d-d-device must have been destroyed during the explosion." The man drops the scientist, "You are a failure, do you know what happens to failures?" The scientist pleads, "Please my lord, I promise I'll make it up to you! I'll build you an army of perfect hybrids!"

The man ignores him and says, "Xeno, take care of him." A boy approaches from behind the man and says, "Yes father." The boy named Xeno sticks his hand out to the scientist and a spark of light starts to form, as it grows bigger and brighter around his palm. The scientist grows desperate, "PLEASE SIR, I PROMISE I CAN GET HIM! I CAN BRING THE BOY IF YOU JUST GI-" But before he finishes, Xeno blasts off his upper body and the scientist falls dead. The kids have a horrific look on their faces, while the dragon figure stays still.

The man turns to the kids. "You, over there, come to me." He points at the dragon figure. He stands and approaches the man with dead eyes. The dragon boy towers the man. He asked, "What's your name?" The dragon boy looks at him "...Draco." The man looks at the other kids, "You kids, you are all coming with me." Tyger musters up some courage to say, "W-where are you taking us?" The man looks at Tyger, which sends a chill down the poor boy's spine. The man says, "You are all coming to my place, and if you do your work correctly, you won't end up like that." He says as he looks at the scientist's dead body. Intimidated, the kids follow the man into the darkness and now are under his command.

Jem the butterfly, Tyger the tiger, Ike the chameleon, Doresal the spider, Ronin the hedgehog, Amliv the fox, Pom the sugar glider, and Draco the dragon. These kids were captured in a similar way that Mach did and now seek freedom and vengeance from Mach's betrayal.
