Anastasia's POV:

"Ssshh, it's ok Anastasia, don't worry I'm right here."

So many questions invaded my thoughts, "why did you say I was your wife, Mr De Luca, who even are you?" I asked almost defensively, once again trying to sit up but failing miserably. I was beginning to get frustrated at my current state.

"Don't call me Mr De Luca, I'm Sebastian and you will address me as this. I had to say you were my wife because that was the only way they would let me see you and I had to make sure you were alright." Sebastian's voice reverberated through the empty room.

It was just us and I could feel his warmth surrounding me as his figure sat down next to me as tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. I couldn't help it but his touch lit up my body in a way I have never experienced before, but I couldn't let that happen, I didn't even know who he was.

As I examined his features more closely, I could only see him pointing a gun towards me in the darkly lit club. Even though I knew he didn't mean for the bullet to hit me, only the disgusting excuse of a man behind me, he was dangerous and I knew it. I knew it, yet it didn't stop the attraction I felt towards him. He was being sweet now but I know what he's really capable of. The mass destruction that occurred that night.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He questioned with a stern and also apologetic look drawn across his tired face.

"Di-Did you shoot me?" I stuttered as information flashed before my eyes. Why did I ask that if I already knew the answer? Dumb bitch. But let's not forget that I've lost a lot of blood. Cause you know, I got shot and all.

"I'm so sorry Anastasia, I promise I was trying to keep you safe" he reached out to me.

I attempted to recoil, but my body was not allowing me to as sharp pains pierced through my stomach and I bit back a whimper. I was in so much pain and this man was the one who inflicted it.

"Keep me safe? You're the one who shot me! I've been in a coma for over a week and now my friend is barely clinging onto life and you think you saved me?" I was outraged, my emotions taking control over my rationality.

"No. Listen to me Anastasia. I was shooting the man behind you, he was going to kill you if I didn't do anything about it. Who was he?" I could feel the sincerity in his gaze and I slightly softened at the sight.

I looked down and he grabbed my chin to look in his eyes and as soon as they met, sparks flew. How was he making me feel like this? His grip was harsh and held a sense of authority, yet his eyes were searching for answers in the ocean of my own. My heart was beating out of my chest and caused my eyelids to get heavy with sleep.

My body was weakening under his touch and my mind continued to race, however, my lungs were unable to keep up. Slow wheezing came out of my mouth and I couldn't breathe. Every breath felt like I was running a marathon. My body went slack as the machines started angrily beeping. I'm sorry Victoria, I can't hold on any longer.

"Anastasia? No! ANASTASIA? Help please someone help me!" Sebastian cried.

Once again I was left alone in the prison of my mind, secluded and empty.

I can't die like this. No. I won't die like this.
