Anastasia's POV:
The pain that was stabbing my stomach was excruciating. I was trying to breathe through it but it was beginning to get unbearable. Every three minutes I would get pain and I was getting worried. Is our baby coming? I'm only 37 weeks! She's not full term yet. The thoughts were swirling through my mind as I looked over at the clock.
— 3:28am - Tuesday, 12th of October —
Our baby girls due date is the 26th of October so we still had a bit of time. She's not ready.
Screaming out in agony, I woke up Sebastian and he looked at me, nerves flooding his eyes.
"Baby?" He questioned groggily.
"THE BABY. SHE'S COMING!" I yelled.
"Shit. Ok, we need to get to the hospital. I'll call the midwife." He scrambled, quickly shaking out of his sleepy state.
I rolled out of bed and stood up, waddling. That's when I felt it. Did I just pee myself? That's a lot of pee.
"Honey, your water just broke, we need to hurry" he said urgently.
My pyjamas were soaking but Sebastian couldn't care less, he wrapped me in a blanket, picked me up, and threw the hospital bag over his shoulder, pushing the door open and running down the stairs.
"Did I do this?" I cried. "Did I do too much yesterday when going shopping? What if I hurt our baby girl?"
"Shhhh, it's ok. I've got you. We'll be at the hospital soon and we'll have our baby girl. You can do this, I believe in you. Stay strong Ana." He soothed me and I wiped my tears in the break between my contractions.
Sebastian placed me gently down into the car seat and buckled me up before he ran to his side of the car and flung the door open.
"AGHHHHHH" I screamed. The pain was back and this time it's more intense. It was only two minutes after the last one and they were coming more frequently.
Baby girl is coming out today.
After reversing the car and driving down the long driveway, we were about 7 minutes away from the hospital. But that 7 minutes was going to feel like an eternity.
Taking in deep shuttering breaths, I was clutching my stomach and clawing at the seat, trying to relieve the pressure I felt.
It was all a blur but before long, I was being picked back up and rushed through the doors of the emergency room.
"Please help me! My fiancé's water broke and she's having contractions!" He yelled, alerting the nurses as they rushed to our side.
"Who's your midwife, miss?" The nurse questioned me and I looked to Sebastian so he could answer.
"Dr. Leah Andrews. I've called her and she said she's on her way."
"Of course, let's get your fiancé to a room."
I was grabbed a wheelchair and Sebastian reluctantly put me down. We were wheeled down the long hallways, different rooms lined the walls and each one passed by quickly.
"OH MY GODDDD" I felt bad for yelling but I was in pain. It was beginning to feel like my babies' head was right at my vag. Like not even kidding. I could feel her coming. Fast.
We got into the room and our midwife was standing there, waiting for us. She's been with me this whole pregnancy and I trust her completely to deliver our daughter.
"Dr Andrews" the nurses greeted.
Some other nurses filed through the door and I was laid onto the bed in an upright position and my legs were propped up onto the stirrups. I was completely exposed but right now I was just focused on our baby girl.
Sebastian was standing by my side, my hand in his and I took advantage of this by squeezing it whenever the pain was taking over my senses.
I saw Leah at my entrance and it was soon followed by some pressure.
"You're nearly fully dilated but it's too late to give you an epidural. You're going to have to do it naturally Anastasia, I'm sorry."
"Oh fuck" I muttered but I knew I could do it. I had Sebastian by my side and I felt like I could conquer the world.
Preparing myself for Leah to tell me to push, I took deep breaths and heard Seb comfort me from the side.
"Get ready to push on your next contraction."
I nodded and when she said push, I began pushing with all of my force, feeling my daughters head.
It was difficult but I could do it.
Over and over again, I pushed for ten seconds. She was so close, her head was out and now the rest of the body had to come.
I was squeezing Sebastian's hand so hard I was afraid I would crush every single bone but I couldn't think about that right now.
One final time, I pushed and my baby was out.
Only problem was, she wasn't crying.
