Chapter 2

Rebecca's POV

After three more hours we finally landed. Ruby is so jumpy. I have to look that I'm not gonna lose her. Before we left France, I did some research and I know that R5 is going to play a concert here in California, so I decide to go to the venue, even though the concert starts in five hours. I know they're already gonna be there.

I drive into the parking lot. After I cut off the engine, I turn around to Ruby.

Rebecca: Ruby, baby. I'm gonna leave you here for a moment because I have to go and talk to someone, okay? But don't worry, I'll lock the car, so no one can take you away, okay? I'll come and get you in 5-7 min. Are you gonna be alright?

Ruby: Yes mommy. I'm already a big girl.

She shows her cheeky grin and I know she's gonna be alright. So I get out of the car and lock it. I wave at her one last time and she waves back. Then I go into the direction of the venue. I just wanna go inside, when a blond girl comes into my direction. She stares at her phone and doesn't know where she's going, neither do I, so we both bump together.

Rydel: Oh my god. I am so sorry. I was so into my phone that I didn't see you.

Rebecca: No it's okay really.

Rydel: No, it's not. That happens so often the last time. I just-.

Then she suddenly stops and looks at me. I look back at her kind of confused. Then she suddenly puts her hand over her mouth and her eyes start to get watery. I start to panic.

Rebecca: Are-are you okay?

Rydel: ... Rebecca? ... Is that you?

Rebecca: Yeah, why do you-.

I suddenly realize, who the blond girl is.

Rebecca: R-Rydel?

Rydel: Yes, it's me. Oh my god I've missed you so much.

We hug for what seems like 1 hour, then Rydel lets go off me.

Rydel: Where have you been, Rebecca? We were looking everywhere for you?

Rebecca: I was in France.

Rydel: But why? Why did you leave us?

Rebecca: Well, the reason is sitting in the car over there.

Rydel takes one step to the right and looks into the direction of my car, where she sees Ruby playing with her dolls. Then she looks at me again.

Rydel: Who is this little cutie?

Rebecca: That's Ruby. ... My ... my daughter.

Rydel: ... Is that the reason why you left? Because you were pregnant?

Rebecca: *nods*

Rydel: Why did you do this? You know we would have helped you.

Rebecca: I just didn't want to ruin your careers and I didn't want to be a burden.

Rydel: You wouldn't have been a burden. ... Who's the father?

Rebecca: ... Ross.

Rydel: Rebecca that was the dumbest thing you've ever done. Ross would have been so happy, if he knew he would become a father.

Rebecca: Speaking of Ross, how was he? During the time I was gone?

Rydel: You wanna hear the truth? He was a wreck. For the first months he didn't even come out of his room. He started to starve himself, but luckily he didn't cut.
