Atelophobia
[A-tel-o-pho-bia]
The fear of imperfection. The fear of never being good enough

"Divine get your fat ass up I'm hungry" I heard before a pillow smacked against my face making me groan loudly in pain.

"Brandon what the fuck"

"I don't care get the fuck up." He got out of the bed and walked to the door before looking back at me. "Get your ass up. I don't play about my food"

"I hate it here" I mumble under my breath before laying my head back down on my pillow.

"Don't make me come back in there!" I heard him yell making me groan once more. I sigh and sit up, rubbing my eyes before heading into the bathroom to do my business.

"Finally shit" Brandon said once I reached down stairs ten minutes later. "Shut the fuck up shrimp dick" I flip him off and walk to the dining room to see everyone already seated.

"Someone please tell me why we are eating together like some big happy family" I grumble still upset I had to wake up out of my amazing slumber.

"We were a happy family until you ruined it" a deep voice said making my whole body still. I look over to see my father sitting at the head of the table with my mother sitting to the left of him.

I froze.

"I refuse to have an ungodly child staying in my house! Get out!"

"I didn't know they were coming" Precious whispered to me as she came up next to me with a big plate full of biscuits. She gave me a sad smile before walking over to the table to set it down.

"Breathe best friend. We all are on your side here" Brandon said as he gave my hand a tight squeeze and sent me an encouraging smile.

I wanted to listen to his words but all I could hear was my father's words as he kicked me out.

"You no good use of a daughter get the hell out!"

"Don't you dare come back until you learned some sense!"

"Divine" I looked to my side to see Maeve looking at me in worry. She's so pretty.

I don't say anything as she takes my hand, leading me into the kitchen and away from everyone else.

"Divine i know it's going to be hard but I need you to not give in to the temptation of telling your father off" She speaks softly, standing in front of me.

"I don't want to be near him Eve"

"I know." was all she could say as she gives me a small smile. "Just tune him out and focus on the food which is your sister getting married"

Still don't know how she managed to get a rich white man to marry her at freaking twenty two and live in this big ass house.

"Okay" I mumble and look away from her as I sigh. "I won't let him ruin this for her" I shake my head.

"He won't. We won't let him" She then says.

She gives me a minute before she says "Come on" and we return in the dining room. I sit down in between Brandon and my brother while Amaya sits across from me.

I don't speak to my parents as my sister begins excitedly talking about the wedding to everyone. I'm happy for her, I really am. I just wish I could have been back in her life sooner.

"This looks amazing baby" Grey says looking at his fiancé with love. She smiles brightly and thanks him before fixing a plate for him.

Everyone begins to dig in and fix their plates while my eyes remain on my father who sits talking to my mother like nothing is wrong. Selfish homophobic bastard.
