Hygge
(n.) life moments brimming with happiness, comfort, and loved ones; the good life"Baby here's your food" I hand Maeve the bowl of chicken and rice and she thanks me with a kiss before focusing on her work. I place a water bottle next to her laptop and leave the room, heading back into the living room where Precious sat on the couch.
"Okay planning time" Precious excitedly says making me scrunch my face up in disgust.
I shake my head and sigh deeply as I sit down beside her. "Precious the wedding is in the month. Maeve and I have everything prepared what else is there to plan?" I ask her making me scoff.
"I'm not talking about the wedding Divine. I'm talking about your birthday. It's next week and you still haven't planned anything."
Rolling my eyes, I grab my bowl of fruit and munch on some strawberries. "Because I just spent most of my money planning a fucking wedding." I mumble and shake my head no. "Besides I'm going to be twenty six it's not like it's a milestone."
I hear a scoff before Brandon walks into the living room with a dramatic frown on his face. Dear God kill me now "Every age is a milestone honey. The fact that you survived another year should be celebrated!"
"Again I just spent money on a freaking wedding"
Brandon shushes me. "You're literally a supermodel woman. That money barely put a dent in your account." Alright not too much
"I'm not a billionaire Brandon. I can't spend money on everything."
He sits down on the other side of me before stealing a raspberry. "Divine I'm tired of you acting like you barely have any money. You have more money than me and Precious combined and it's time you start acting like it. It's your birthday and you deserve to treat yourself. You deserve to be celebrated."
"If I deserved to be celebrated so much why don't you pay for it?" I ask him arching a brow as I look at him.
He smiles at me. "I have no problem putting my fair share in celebrating my best friend." He says and looks at Precious who just stares at the both of us, clearly zoned out.
He clears his throat making her immediately nod her head. "Of course I will help. You're my sister and this is the first time we will be celebrating your birthday since everything."
I open my mouth to respond but am cut off by Maeve walking into the living room with the bowl. "Baby the food was—Oh! Hey guys." She smiles at Precious and Brandon before turning to me. "Thank you for the food baby." She says and smiles at me.
"Of course my love."
"I thought you worked at a publishing company. Why are you home?" Precious asks her as Maeve goes into the kitchen to put the bowl into the sink.
"I started working from home once a week. I go in the other three days."
"What were you guys talking about?" She the. asks us as she comes over sliding into my lap. She wraps her arms around my neck and I hold her tightly as I kiss her cheek.
"Divine doesn't want to do anything for her birthday and we are trying to convince to celebrate herself for once" Brandon tells her making her look at me.
"Oh well you guys don't need to worry about that. Divine will definitely be celebrated" She says in a teasing voice before winking at me. She then pecks my lips before standing up.
Well damn
"Oh?" Precious says and Maeve leaves the room saying she has to get back to work.
"Ooo girl she about to have your ass screaming next week" Brandon taunts making me roll my eyes as I blush. "Shut up." I get up and head into the kitchen, setting my bowl in the sink.

"Baby come to bed I miss you" I whine causing Maeve to laugh and peek her head out of the bathroom door. "Really?" She sarcastically raises an eyebrow at me making me send her a cheeky smile.
"I miss you mama" I say as she leaves the bathroom and walks over to me. I pull her on top of me and kiss her cheek. "So beautiful" I murmur as I take in her beauty.
She smiles at me before pecking my lips. She gets comfortable in my arms before tracing the tattoo on my wrist. "Do you think we will ever get married?"
I look at her like she's crazy. "Baby we are getting married in a month what do you mean?"
She shakes her head with a laugh. "I mean like did you ever think we would get married like you know before you left?"
I instantly nod my head.
"I didn't think we would get married but I had a feeling and hope that you would always be in my life."
She smiles and looks down at our hands. "I can't believe we are getting married. It all feels so unreal"
Kissing her forehead, I hold her face in my hands. "I can't wait to see you walk down that aisle in that dress you won't let me see." I say with a small roll my eyes as I smile.
"It's bad luck!" She defends making me laugh.
"Bad luck is for pussies" She shrugs her shoulders as she looks away from me. "Welp we both got pussies so" She says making us both burst into a fit of laughter.
"God I love you so much" I tell her causing her cheeks to flush pink. She smiles over at me before leaning in to kiss me.
"I love you more"
"Nooo I love YOU more"
She shakes her head. "I love youuu more" She says and pulls the covers over the both of us.
"Nope. Impossible"
She looks at me and lowers her eyes as she dramatically bites her lip. "Nothing is impossible with you baby girl." She says with her "best" deep voice.
Not even being able to contain my laughter, I shake my head at her causing her to laugh with me. "Ain't no way you just did that" I say in between laughs.
She giggles and lays her head on my chest. "And did" she says making me laugh even harder.
"Girl go to sleep."
