Felix's POV
His houseUrging my friends upstairs, I noticed mom still getting ready for bed on the main floor. As my mouth opened to explain, however, he held up a hand to silence me. A grin pressed to her lips as she holds up a thumb and waves me good night. It was in that moment that I realized how grateful I was for my mom.
Upon climbing the next set of stairs, the two fell into awe at the entree to my room. Hyunjin, in particular, couldn't take his eyes off of the many star-shaped lights stringing along the fold between my ceiling and walls. At one point, the ceiling dipped up with the roof. That's when Jeongin found himself stargazing without even realizing it.
"Anyone can use the shower. I have extra towels in there. And if you need an extra uniform for tomorrow, my mom hoards my old ones so we can find something there," I say, directing them to the right places. "I'll make a bed on the floor. If one of you wants my bed, I can-"
"Oh please, this is enough, Felix," Hyunjin chuckles from the window peering out into the nighttime traffic. "This is...more than I've ever gotten actually."
I didn't want to press him on that, so I nodded and began lying quilts upon quilts to the floor. I was lucky to have access to half of the house's storage when living up in the attic, so my mom's whole stash of blankets was free rein for me.
I added a few pillows from my bed adjacent to the window where Hyunjin refused to move. Jeongin had gone to shower first while I began to brush my teeth and change.
"You alright, Hyunjin?"
He nods and peers down at his bag stuffed with his art supplies. "You're so lucky, Felix...so very lucky." He does remove such intent gaze from the bag until the window grabbed his attention once again. "I would paint here everyday. Take in the scenery, sketch birds, all of it." I catch him peering down below. "Your mother even has a garden."
He pivots around, eyeing the take out boxes with temptation. Just then, Jeongin comes out in white t-shirt I had lent him. His fox eyes follow Hyunjin's stare, where he then retrieves the food for his senior.
"I'm surprisingly too tired to eat," he says, setting his folded towel on a nearby chair. He maneuvers over to the bed made on the ground where he nestles himself in the clean sheets. "This is so much better than my bed."
I could've cried at that. I hated sleeping on hardwood floors, but this must've been the best bed he's ever slept on. "You gonna stay up, Hyung?" He notions to the Hyunjin more than me.
He looks to the city traffic, then back down at the youngest before shaking his head. "I'm too tired. Do you think we can save the food for tomorrow or something?" He asks indirectly to me as he picks up the boxes.
"Yeah, you can put it in there," I point to the mini fridge near the entrance where we had come from. As he stores the boxes accordingly, I brush the rest of my teeth in the bathroom then plop beside Jeongin. He opens his eyes from tucked within the covers.
"Hi, Felix."
"Hi, Jeongin," I smile and lie beside him. "I don't feel like sleeping on my bed tonight," I huff a long breath as my eyes flutter close.
I hear him shuffle beside me, clearly confused as to why I was lying on his bed instead of my own. Before he could ask, however, Hyunjin is felt lying beside me, an exaggerated sigh leaving his lungs as he does so.
"I don't want to go to school," he sighs from next to me. I open my eyes to find them all with their eyes closed. Smiling, I reach over and pull the end of the lights from the wall. The room falls dark with the only light coming from the skylight.
Jeongin hums into his pillow, already falling asleep. "Tomorrow, let's visit Minho during lunch," he muffles into the thick fabric.
I close my eyes again and breathe deeply. It was nice feeling such heat in the spacious room. Because it was so close to the roof, my heat was barely enough to keep me warm, hence all the blankets. But with Hyunjin and Jeongin on either side of me, I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud during summer. It was perfect, incredible even.
I bundle myself deeper in the blankets. "That's a great idea. I'll tell the others tomorrow."
"Good night, Felix," Hyunjin sighs just as he dozed off. Jeongin repeats the Hyung's words before also drifting away into his slumber.
"Goodnight," and we were all happily sleeping under the stars.
