Chan's POV
That Night

After almost an hour of bickering, Felix, Minho, Jisung, Changbin and I decided to hit up a coffee shop to get boba and take a walk down the strip mall. Everyone fit snug into my car and we drove off with music blasting and the windows down.

At some point, Minho told me to open the skylight, so I did. Little did I know he'd climb on the council and fit half  his body up there. Everyone was laughing and singing as we drove down the highway, the wind blowing all of our hair and carrying our voices into the night.

Once we parked at the somewhat empty lot, we made our way to the boba shop. Minho was dizzy to the point of throwing up so he lounged on the offered couches while we all ordered something. The cafe held a nice glow to it with orange and purple lights stringing around the area and giving the cafe its only source of light. The couches matched the colors of the lights and gave the feeling of being at a party with the soft music and hum of people enjoying their Friday night. The slow, gentle sway of the life inside was how I preferred my parties anyways.

"I bet they're having fun," Jisung ponders, his eyes set on the darkened sky ridden with storm clouds. It was a marvel we got here before the rain did.

"Doubt it," Minho scoffs. "We already know Seungmin will be reading the entire time. Loud, party lights, he'll still find a way to that book." We all share a quick laugh in agreement. "And poor Jeongin," he sighs.

"You saw his face too then!" Says Jisung. "He looked so sad, I didn't know what to do." He sips at his drink, filling his already big cheeks with tapioca pearls. Minho pokes one, only to rial him up.

"Yeah," Felix finally chimes in once their brawl simmered down. "He said he's going with another sophomore, right? Do any of you know who it is?" We all shake our heads in unison. He sips at his boba from beside me, all of us seated at the mini bar they had that looked out directly into the street all except Minho who was still nursing his throbbing head. "I don't know why he was so upset. I hope he's okay."

"I'm sure he'll be fine," Changbin says, picking at his pearls with his straw. "Hyunjin will be there."

"That guy won't do shit with Jia around," says Minho, only getting us to laugh again. "He clearly is in love with her."

"Hmm, lucky them, then," I say, raising my cup in a mini cheers. Minho almost spits his drink from laughter. It didn't take long for the rest of us to follow.

"Oh yes," he gasps, trying to keep from losing it, "a toast to our Hyunjin for falling for another actress."

We all carry on giggling while Jisung urged us to stop for respect for Hyunjin. "It's not our business anyways. He can date whoever he wants," he says, earning nods in return.

"Still though," begins Minho who got a glare from Jisung. He raises his hands in a quick surrender. "I'm not insulting him! I'm just saying that maybe I'd be more supportive if he didn't glare at me every god damn second." Even beneath the neon lighting, as Minho lounged with Jisung sitting at his feet, his expression was somber and guilty, as if he had done something none of knew about. "You all noticed that, right?"

I couldn't lie. It was evident that the topic of Jia hit Hyunjin's heart, and her presence caused something to surge in the blonde, something that wasn't there when it was just us 8. Perhaps it was jealousy, but with Minho not even putting up the fight, it was hard who Hyunjin had on his target on or why.

"He's just being like that to impress her. It always seems to be the thing guys do."

"I certainly have never been mean to get a girls attention," says Minho.
