Changbin's POV
That DayI let the sweet chill of the coffee run down my throat, each swallow reminding me of the nonstop conditioning that was done in practice. Coach said that just because we had won, doesn't mean we can relax. If we let our guard down now, we may lose at state.
And what would be the fucking point of that.
I almost spit out a gulp at a sudden pair of arms wrapping around me from behind. Minho laughs, covering his mouth just as Chris strolls around the table, his smile big and hefty. Not far behind him is Jeongin running up to us with the same energy. "Took you two long enough. I almost drank yours," I say, gesturing to the two full drinks meant for them. Jeongin's ice in his latte is three parts latte, one part water by now.
"Thanks, guys. Wonderful day, huh?"
Minho is the first to squint his eyes in suspicion. "Yeah, what about it?" I didn't think he'd be so passive, so a nudge to the side was a must. "I'm just saying," he whines. "We have no other plans today. Is everyone even free?"
Chris, from his phone, lets out a sigh before turning the screen towards us. "No activity since 1 am this morning. Felix and Hyunjin are definitely still sleeping."
"Together?" Now an elbow dives into my rib, my head falling forward in regret. Probably wasn't the most appropriate thing to say. It wasn't like no one knew about them. Hell, Hyunjin lived in his house for a bit. It was Chris, though, that Minho carefully gestures to. I sit back in remembrance.
Hyunjin told us over a FaceTime call one night–while he was drunk, mind you–that Chris had tried to confess his feelings to Felix. It was a couple days after he was forced to move back in, which didn't settle with him very well. When asked if anyone else knew, he took another swing of whatever was in the bottle and shook his head. "It was right before I confessed. Could you imagine if I was too late?" It wasn't uncommon for there to be secrets amongst us about one of us. Keeping Minjun a secret already caused so much drama between Chris and Hyunjin that getting told this secret made me feel as though Hyunjin had forgiven me. Like he could trust me with his true feelings.
As of now, Minho, Felix, Hyunjin, Chris, and I are the only ones that know of this supposed proposal. The only one who's denying it ever happening is Felix. Perhaps out of the goodness of his heart or his willingness to move on.
"Oh, Felix is calling. Hello?" Chris puts the phone to his ear, his eyes going to the sky as the corners of his mouth lift immediately upon hearing his voice. They are both speaking English too, only making it that much more personal to him. I don't dare look at Minho even when I know we're both thinking the same thing: he's clearly still in love with Felix.
The leader's smile falls slowly. "Oh, you work today? What time?" I try my best to follow along, but the details are mushy. All I get from it is Felix has to work at his job at the drive-in tonight. After minutes of being all the call, while the rest of us sip idly at our drinks, Chris's tone turns from sorrow to relief. The call ends and he looks to us with stars in his eyes.
"How would you guys like to go to a drive-in movie tonight?"

"This is dumb. No way they'll fall for this," Seungmin sighs from his spot on the floor of the truck.Chris ushers him to quiet down as he pulls into the line of vehicles. Looking down at the senior, I whisper, "Felix is working the ticket booth, so he'll let us in easily."
"Yeah, right," Hyunjin scoffs from beside me. Our bodies were so squished with four people sitting in the back, not to forget Seungmin still stuffed in between seats and bags on the floor. I bet Chris felt bad for having to put Jeongin on the ground–even though he's the smallest of all of us–so Seungmin was his closest replacement. Hyunjin can't even cross his arms correctly as he goes to say, "Felix can barely steal a pack of cigarettes. How can he sneak six people into a–"
