Jeongin's POV
Field Day, 10:30 AM

"There's too much ruckus for this early in the morning."

"But Hyunjin-Hyung," I chide back to him as we slowly move our way up in line for our tags and group, "we haven't even started yet."

"We've been at school for 2 hours already," he says, trailing off into a groan dowsed in drowsiness. It was true that we had our first 2 periods of school before getting dismissed to go to the fields. Hyunjin, in particular, wasn't excited to skip the one class he could fall asleep in: economics.

I had to hear about that one the entire walk to the field.

At least it was nice outside. A small breeze clung to the jacket of my uniform, cooling the fabric protecting me from the bite of the weather.

We were currently lined up at 4 separate tables, the line reaching as far back as the parking lot with how many high schoolers there was. I caught sight of Minho and Jisung in the line beside us. Minho was secretly scrolling on his phone with a headphone wire tucked into his sleeve and poking out the other end so the two could listen to music. Jisung certainly seemed at peace with the whole Field Day event.

If only I could get Hyunjin to stop banging his head against my back.

"I want to go home," he says with every pound. Any more and my shoulder blade will be bruised. He sighs into my back, finally giving out of whatever energy he had saved for today. "There's Jia."

I turn towards the line on the other side of us. There, with Felix and Chan waiting a few people behind her, was our actress ready in a matching jacket and joggers like the rest of us. Her hair was even tied into a ponytail on top her head.

     "She's gorgeous."

     "You like her, don't you."

A beat passes and he clicks his tongue. "Of course not."

"Huh, okay." I knew better than to question a senior further. So I waited until he groaned into my back, the sound reverberating down my entire spine.

     "Alright fine...I do like her."

Turning my head back to catch the smallest glimpse of his blonde ponytail, I nod and say, "I know, hyung."

After a few more minutes of waiting in line, we made it to the front. "Yang Jeongin and," I pause, thinking for sure that Hyunjin has fallen asleep on me. "My hyung, Hwang Hyunjin."

The teacher behind the desk shuffles through her cards of name before handing me ours.

"Volleyball is at the sand court and kick ball is in the little league field. Next!"

I pull Hyunjin with me to the side where I finally turn around. His body is forced to straighten up, allowing him to return to his normal height. "Alright hyung, I'll see ya at lunch." I give him a firm pat on the back, hand him his card, and wave him off.

As I cross the field littered with random groups of students doing the same, I pull a tin of fruit gummies from my pocket. Opening it, however, I find the last 4 pills that the patient had gifted me.

I quickly pop one in my mouth, not giving it the time to dissolve before reaching the volleyball court. Immediately, I see Seungmin sitting beneath a tree, a book in hand and his attention completely away from the task at hand. Others clapped at their growing teams or sat on the sidelines mindlessly.

"Morning, Hyung," I wave down at Seungmin before sitting myself beside him. He closes his book, his glasses reflecting a ray of sunshine past my eyes.
