Hyunjin's POV
1 am, same day"Truth or dare?"
"Dare," I huff and take another swing of the wine as the others oooh-ed at my response. Chan just raises a single brow and takes the bottle from me.
He takes his own gulp and sighs in thought. Then, the devil's smirk lit up in his eyes. "I dare you to tell me who your crush is!"
My heartbeat simmers back down to its normal pace. I blow a short breath and say, "you just mixed a truth and a dare. Therefore," I pause, reaching over and taking the bottle back, "I won't be telling you."
"Ooooh, gotcha there, President," Jeongin laughs from beside me. He lay horizontal with his head propped up by one arm and the rest of him blanketed by Felix and Seungmin.
Newspaper boy, on the other hand, was on the verge of passing out.
I turn to Minho on my other side. He saw it coming. "Truth or dare?" I ask.
"Dare," he shrugs, crossing his arms over his chest in some sort of assertion of dominance.
This was easy, and I had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to do so. "I dare you to kiss Jisung."
The juniors exchange puzzled looks with each other before burning pink and red. It was as if every shade of love was painted on their cheeks. The others explode in rejoice for peak entertainment. I just throw my head back and wait for the performance to begin.
Minho's jaw drops to say something, but immediately closes in regret. Sitting up on his knees, he puffs his chest out in a big breath before releasing it while saying, "I'm doing this for the sake of my sanity, Jisung."
The boy's quokka eyes rounded to their full capacity, and the party erupts in laughs and sounds of disbelief. I look to Felix cupping his hand over his mouth, but not removing his eyes as Minho pounces on Jisung.
It was a quick hold of his jaw before pressing his lips to his for a good 3 seconds before giving up. Chan and Jeongin squealed into their blankets while Changbin and I cheered them on. Felix sat with his jaw dropped and Seungmin was finally snoring.
It was nothing to Minho, but Jisung's expression flattened in all directions. He even looked up to Minho as if waiting for an explanation. But he only cleared his throat and fisted the fabric of his pants as he waited for his trial.
What surprised me the most was how neither of them wiped away the kiss like some sappy teen in a movie. "Truth or dare?" Minho asks down to the quiet Quokka.
Jisung only folds his lips in and shrugs. "Truth?" He replies, his voice meek and small. The ending of his tone rose in a question. I can't help but smile at how cute he unintentionally is.
"Boring!" Changbin groans. I nod my head before leaning back against the side of Felix's bed. My eyes were indeed getting heavy with all the gossip and dares. Drinking wasn't much help either.
"Be nice, Changbin," Felix nudges the junior who just folds his arms in and waits for the incoming truth.
Minho must've not expected the response because he was fixed on the ceiling in thought. When the stars whispered something to him, he looked to Jisung and said, "rate me on a scale of 1-10."
Jisung's eyes soften and his expression falls blank. Meanwhile, Jeongin and Changbin were indulging themselves in their own laughter. I shoot them a look to shut up. "That's too easy," I say, sitting up before adding, "we all know you're a solid 2."
A pillow collides with my head, and laughter rings in my ears. "Take it back!"
I sit back up and face the angered junior. Holding out my pinkie, I say, "I'm sorry. I promise I won't do it again." He seemed satisfied with my apology, so he locked the promise in then went back to Jisung.
When the frightened boy didn't know what to say, Chan spoke up. "You don't have to do anything, Jisung. Give him a different one-"
"8?"
Felix and I both share a quick glance before nodding at his honestly. Minho, however, just dropped his jaw, (although, we could see the corners of his mouth lift in glee.) I lean back and against Felix who was yawning as much as little Jeongin was.
The basketball player huffs out a quick breath in retaliation. "Why did you make it a question?" Jisung furrows his brows at the Minho, a smile quirking over his lips. I catch Minho stealing a quick glimpse as his pink smile in return.
Felix and I chuckle simultaneously.
"Do you want me to lie?"
A snore sounds from Seungmin. We all blow out a laugh. "No," Minho chuckles and looks back to Han. "I just would've given myself a solid ten."
"Of course you would," replies Changbin. Yawns were now spreading in a contagion movement around the group.
But when Minho yawned, he shook it away, trying to keep himself from ending up like Seungmin. Not that it was bad. He was just too motivated...and drunk.
"Jisung, your turn," he says, sitting down and propping himself against his assigned pillow. Already, his head was sulking back, only to shake awake.
The junior frowns in thought before turning to Chan and asking, "truth or dare?" I turn towards the President just as I notice Felix sound asleep on my shoulder.
Jeongin smiles and stands up to stretch his limbs. When a few pops sound from him, he flicks the nightstand lamp off, leaving the room sparkling with stars.
I lie down, enjoying the night sky illuminating a blue box right on Felix and I. Everyone seemed to be distracted by the stars as well because Chris didn't give a response. Finally, he whispers, "truth."
I look to Jisung lying back, not taking his eyes away from the sky as he breathes the words, "what do you want to do with your life?"
The question didn't make just Chan wonder. Thinking back to the way we had run away from my father and the color he had left on my right cheek...
'What the fuck am I doing with my life?'
The President sounds an audible yawn before clicking his tongue. "I dunno," he ponders, humming a bit to fill in the silence. "I've never thought that far ahead. Probably because I never thought I'd even make it to senior year."
He chuckles to himself, but my head raises at a sounding alarm in my mind. "What do you mean?" I ask.
He doesn't say anything for some time. Then, with a single sigh, he says, "I think I'll want to continue being a leader somehow." Turning his head towards me, his cheeks round in a grin. "I like film. Maybe I'll work on set or something."
"That's a good goal," Jisung hums and lies down beside Minho who was also fast asleep. He must've not have been all the way because upon Jisung's arrival, he shifted so he faced the junior. 'A married couple indeed.' "You're a great leader, by the way," he adds as he quickly lifts his head to show one more demanding smile before being weighed back down.
I return the warmth in that grin towards Chan. "He's right," I yawn. "When we graduate, I'm sure you become something ethereal, Chris."
His head rises at that, and we make brief eye contact. Jeongin's snore sounds from beside Changbin and Chan. We smile down at the youngest, at our joy. "You really think so, Hyunjin?"
It was just us now, but it was all I needed. "Of course," I laugh. Relocating the bottle of wine, I screw the cap on and hand it back to him. "I've had too much to drink."
"Oh no, me too." We both share a light laugh as he tucks it back in his bag. Running a single hand through his ruffled, midnight hair, it gave the impression of a true leader. One that I wanted to follow forever. "I think-"
A yawn washes over me and drowns the room with my tiredness. Chan laughs and lies his head back down. "Good night, Hyunjin."
"Good night, Chris."
