Jeongin's POV
Same Day

I had never seen a woman stand up to Principal Hwang like Mrs. Lee did. In a way, it scared me enough to hide behind Felix as we witnessed the scolding. A few times, I'd even flinch back when her finger pointed strictly into the eyes of Hyunjin's father, then back at us.
It was straight war, and she was winning.

"Mrs. Lee," Mr. Hwang sighs as he shoots another glare towards Hyunjin, especially his new hair color. (He made a note to pull the most loathing expression he could upon seeing it). Hyunjin didn't seem bothered by it though. In fact, his attention mostly stayed directed at whatever was on his nails. "I could get you in serious trouble for refusing to turn these kids in-"

"They're high schoolers, Juyeon!" Her tone was as sharp as her very nails. I swallow my fear and look towards Chris still with his head bowed. When he caught my eyes, a smile creeped on his lips and his fingers snuck into mine in a quick handhold. "They haven't done a single bad thing except maybe run through a few neighbors' yards. Isn't that right, Felix?"

The blonde holds a straight smile and nods. 'Damn it...hopefully that man doesn't mention the pool.'

"See! Now you just get your nosy self off my doorstep before I do something I'll regret!" Her slipper is now in her hand and my lips fall into a purposeful frown to hide my laughs. Everyone else seemed to be doing the same. Changbin even coughed into his fist to keep from laughing.

It only made Felix and Hyunjin close their eyes and lean onto one another as their bodies jolt with laughs. Mr. Hwang's glare only darkens as his fists clench.

He exchanged irritable glances between Mrs. Lee and us before straightening his unbuttoned suit jacket and bowing once. "I believe we're done here," he says and turns to leave.

That's when we all cluttered in a tight crowd while slowly seeping out our laughs. It wasn't until Mrs. Lee stepped one foot into her porch and launched her slipper at the man's head did we lose it. It was a clear shot that sent us all throwing our heads back and punching each other's shoulders to shut us up.

"Hey!" He called out.

She points a weary finger at him and curses, "and don't you dare let your anger out on my son or his friends when you're in a professional setting!" Felix's cheeks burn pink as his eyes squint shut and his head bow. We all rub and pat his back, all the while snickering amongst ourselves. "I am ashamed by how you parent your kid." Hyunjin's jaw drops. "He will be staying here tonight, and you can call the cops, but if you do, I'll tell them the horrible behavior you inflict on him!"

Her head whips to Hyunjin, her eyes unintentionally burning with rage as she pats him on the shoulder. Then her head whips towards Felix. "Boy, wipe that smile off your face and go get my shoe."

Felix falls expressionless and bows. "Yes, ma'am," he says and scurries outside to retrieve the shoe.

Hyunjin's arms cross as his cheeky smile returns. Pure delight was on that artist's face, and boy, was I glad to see it.

When the hostesses shoe was retrieved and the principal was stomping away to his car, she slammed the door and took one final look at us. Chris was the first to fall silent and bow. We all follow in suite.

She clicks her tongue and commands us to look at her. We obey. "Rules for this new boarding house," she starts, Felix's mouth quirking up in a reassured smile. "Number one: no more actions that lead to cops coming to my front door. If you want to get risky, go to another neighborhood."

Everyone seemed to be surprised by such a reaction. Even Minho, with his arms crossed over the railing of the stairs, had his eyebrows raised.

"Number two: if I'm not notified beforehand, Felix," her son straightens up and nods, "then no more sleepovers."
