-CHAPTER ONE: Vinyl Village-

Hordes.

Monsters.

Fighters at heavily barricaded gates fighting off ferocious beasts.

Utter chaos.

"C'mon, May, get up!" Zuke whispered. The orange skinned girl groaned, her eyes still glued shut. She sat up with a grumble and rubbed her eyes, adjusting to the space.

"Sheesh, what time is it, Zuke?"

"Not sure."

"Then why'd you wake me up?"

Before Zuke could respond, a young girl who looked no older than nine slowly approached them. The girl had yellow skin, golden locks, fiery eyes and was dressed in conservative leather armor.

"Oh, Mayday and Zuke! You're finally awake! Good good. Elder Tatiana wants to see you two."

Zuke helped Mayday up from the cushions. Her knees trembled and she almost fell backwards. Thankfully Zuke was behind her for assistance.

"Woah there, careful."

"Sorry."

Mayday stretched her muscles for the day. Only then did she realize what she was wearing. She was clad in her inner wear, a cream top with shorts. What made it truly awkward was the fact that a young girl and her male companion were in the room with her. Her face heated up with embarrassment.

"Well, what are you guys waiting for? Elder Tatiana is waiting!"

Mayday and Zuke, now dressed in exquisite blue armor, stood in the threshold of the hut. They shielded their sensitive eyes from the shining sun. The two blinked to adjust.

The girl turned her back to face them. "Shall we go?"

The duo were lead into the heart of the village. Bright lanterns hung on lines.

"Where are we going?"

They headed to an outstanding structure, a mix of traditional Japanese architecture as well as a jutting tower wearing the glowing pink letters, "NSR", upon its great body; the signature NSR Tower watching over the grand village of Vinyl.

At the entrance of the tower stood Elder Tatiana, bold and strong.

"Ho!" She shouted while raising her arm, and a strange looking, brownish orange owl landed on her arm. She untied something by the animal's leg, and the bird flew away. Tatiana opened the paper and began to read it.

"I did what you asked, Elder Tatiana."

Tatiana looked down from her paper. "Thank you, Yinu. You may now go back to your district." The golden haired girl bowed and walked away.

"I have received an important message. We have a rampage on our hands." Tatiana began. "It's been fifty years since the last calamity, but I remember like it was yesterday."

"Say what?"

Tatiana sighed. "Every fifty years, a catastrophic event known as the Rampage occurs when countless hordes of monsters attack the village. Last time, Vinyl was almost wiped out because of it." The duo blinked.

"Now we have the best NSR artists of all Vinyl Village, who've been trained to fight, as well as perform." Tatiana strutted towards Mayday and Zuke. "And you two will help us."

"We?"

"Yes. The more the merrier." Tatiana turned her back and threw them a glance. "Come with me."
