[DISCONTINUED] No Straight Roads x Monster Hunter Rise

-CHAPTER ELEVEN: The Blue Apex-

NSR Tower...

BBJ had arrived, meeting the others in the Gathering Hub. Kliff was there to greet them.

"Mayday and Zuke! You're here!"

"We just saw you on TV!"

"How was your first fanged beast hunt?"

"See what I mean when I said they would have questions?" Zuke whispered while he gave her a side glance. Mayday cleared her throat. "It was refreshing, seeing as Zuke and I had hunted nothing but bird wyverns all the damn time."

"May, you sound a little cranky," Tatiana said. "What's going on?"

Mayday sighed. "I'm sorry Tatiana," she rubbed her forehead. "I just had a very bad dream last night."

Eve was now interested in the conversation, due to Mayday bringing up a particular word. "What happened?"

"I was alone in a dark space, and the wind was crazy. All of a sudden some voice tells me my days are numbered, and then this creepy yellow monster flies out of the clouds and chases after me."

"What happened next?"

Mayday slightly closed her magenta eyes. "I ran for my life but I couldn't outrun that thing. Then I tripped and it ate me."

Eve hummed. "Funny how you mentioned your dream, because I had an eerily similar one too." The bicolored woman began. "I too was in a dark, windy space, then a voice told me it was coming for me. I wanted to run, but I was stuck in my own body. And a ball of bright red light crashed into me, and I woke up."

"So our dreams were similar, in a way?"

"I don't know, Mayday."

Having heard enough, Tatiana interjected, "Mayday, you will need to get some proper rest. Perhaps you'll feel a little better." Tatiana suggested. "That means you too, Zuke. You will both need rest to recharge for the next hunt."

"Okay, Tatiana." BBJ bowed and left the Gathering Hub, leaving the others behind.

The Next Day....

BBJ had gotten ready for the day—putting on their armor and equipment. They were on their way to the Gathering Hub for their quest, when Tatiana came on the billboards.

"People of Vinyl City, this is Tatiana. Earlier today Kliff, West and I have made a prediction. We predict that sometime in the noon and evening hours, we will be having our first rampage. We are unsure of what district the calamity will hit, but if all means necessary, prepare yourselves. You all must have nothing to fear, for NSR has the best trained hunters that will keep you all safe! That is all, and have a pleasant rest of your day."

Mayday gave Zuke a worried look. "So it's finally beginning."

"But we've prepared for this our whole lives, May. We should be ready for this now."

"I guess so."

BBJ continued on their way to the Gathering Hub for Kliff to give them a quest, but when they got there to do so, Kliff didn't give them one.

"What? No quest?"

"Don't you remember? We're supposed to have our first calamity today!"

Mayday blinked. "Oh, right."

"What are we gonna fight?"

"I have no idea. But I'll be on the lookout post to let all the hunters know what will be coming."

"When and where will it happen?"

"It could happen at anytime of they day, I'm afraid. But once again, we don't know what district the calamity will strike first."
