-CHAPTER SIXTEEN: Aggressions Erupt in the Stronghold-

Ok back to the story.

MAYDAY

"Let me out! Show yourself!"

My legs and arms were bound by glowing chains. The clamps around my wrists and ankles were stinging me like bees, not to mention they were cutting off my circulation.

"You do not speak to your mistress like that!" The same voice hissed. "And just for that, you shall be punished."

The glowing clamps now burned me. It felt like I dipped my hands and feet in molten lava. I screamed like a banshee trapped within the bowels of hell.

To make matters worse, I was given the most excruciatingly painful headache that made the last one feel like nothing.

The being showed itself; the same golden beast covered in iridescent spines. It had flippers for hind legs and a bloated pouch between them.

"Please stop, no more." I finally whimpered. My throat was raw and my eyes were watery with tears.

"You are mine, Mayday. Don't you forget it."

Mayday screamed and held her eyes like she was clawing them out with her nails. The Palamutes, Zuke and Spot were startled awake.

"Mayday, what's wrong?"

Mayday panted, the loose strands of hair covering her tear soaked face. Her breaths were shaky, considering how she experienced a terrible nightmare.

"I had another nightmare."

"Again?"

"I was being chained up and burned alive by that same thing." Mayday sobbed.

"What thing?"

"That monster from my last dream!" Mayday wept into her hands, soaking them in snot and tears. "The one that ate me!"

Spot nuzzled his face into Mayday's chest. "Meowstress, it's okay, meow."

Zuke was in deep thought. "Well, if it makes you feel better, I'll let you sleep with me for the rest of the night."

Mayday blinked through her tears. "R-really?" She choked.

Zuke nodded. "Yeah. I mean, only if you want to."

Mayday got up and climbed down. Zuke opened his covers to let Mayday slide in. She laid down next to Zuke, him wrapping his arms around her. Mayday blushed. Her own bandmate never got close to her like this, nevertheless held her so tightly.

His embrace made her feel safe and secure, that she had someone to comfort her when she'd get scared.

Spot climbed down to join Mayday. He curled up beside Mayday and purred, bringing more comfort to her.

Soon Mayday fell back to sleep, with Zuke hugging her torso and Spot next to her.

The sunbeams from the morning star poked through the curtains, filling the hut with light.

Mayday's violet orbs blinked open. Her eyes blinked open and she stretched. However, Zuke's arms were still locked onto her.
