Mayday twiddled with the Kulu-Ya-Ku feather between her fingers. BBJ had stopped by their hut to take a break. Mayday was standing next to the shelf, Zuke was laying in his bunk, sharpening his weapons.

"Zuke," Mayday said, observing the vibrant feathers. "Do you think these Kulu feathers look good on this shelf?"

"Sure they do." Zuke replied, his gaze still fixated on his blades.

"You're not even looking, Zuke!"

Zuke settled down his blades and looked at her. "Ok, ok, now I'm looking."

Mayday scoffed silently, rolling her eyes. "I was asking if these feathers look good on my shelf!"

"Sure they do!" Zuke pointed. "And the Izuchi tail, and the Baggi hide," Zuke laid back down and continued his business with his blades.

Mayday quit the shelf and climbed into her bunk. She flopped onto her back, hands resting behind her head. She had joined Zuke for their lazy day.

"Are we good with supplies? Flash bombs? Pitfall traps? Dung pods?"

Zuke opened his satchel. "Hmm, we have only two flash bombs left."

"You think we're good on those?"

"Hope so."

Spot had climbed up to Mayday's level and rested onto her. Mayday stroked Spot's fur out of instinct. "Aww, Spottie." Mayday said. "You joining us?" Spot only purred in response.

A sharp realization hit Mayday, interrupting her laziness. "Wait, Zuke."

Zuke looked away from his blades. "Yes?"

"I just realized that Elder Tatiana hasn't paid us yet!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! No wonder we're short on money!"

"We can talk to Elder Tatiana about that later." Zuke turned onto his side like he was about to take a nap. "Right now, I just want to rejuvenate my strength."

"Your noon siesta can wait, Zuke!" Mayday sprang out of her bunk, startling Spot awake. "We have to consult with Elder Tatiana about this!"

NSR Tower....

A frustrated Mayday raced into the Gathering Hub, Zuke trailing behind.

"Woah, woah, woah, kids!" Kliff looked up from his tablet. "Why are you in such a bad mood?"

"I'm not in a bad mood, Kliff." Mayday said. "I am simply here to talk with Elder Tatiana."

"What for?"

"Money, damnit!" Mayday slammed her hands against the table, filling Kliff with shock. It even surprised Mayday, not realizing her sudden outburst. "Sorry." Mayday cleared her throat awkwardly.

Kliff adjusted his glasses. "Well, Elder Tatiana is in her office. You'll have to take the elevator to consult her." He said and resumed his business with the tablet.

As soon as the elevator door opened, Mayday stormed out. She slammed her fists on the table. "Elder!" She shouted sharply. The old woman flinched slightly in response.

"Goodness Mayday. What has gotten into you?"

"We've been hunting for three days straight and we haven't gotten paid yet!" Mayday gritted her teeth.

"Oh right!" Tatiana seemed like she had realized something. She walked over to a safe and opened it. Inside the safe were bags upon bags containing what only could be zenny. "Your payment. I must've forgotten about that."
